Chicken skin treatment ointment

Chicken skin treatment ointment

Chicken skin is like chicken skin, with many small bumps on the surface. There are many ointments that can treat chicken skin, but not everyone is effective. Choose the one that works for you. Some ointments contain irritating ingredients and should not be used excessively. Don't rely too much on drugs. Drugs can alleviate and relieve symptoms, but if you want to eradicate them, you have to consider other methods.

Chicken skin is also called keratosis pilaris. Since keratosis pilaris is a disease related to keratin, the general treatment is to use exfoliating ointments as the first choice. External use of skin keratin softeners or keratolytics can alleviate symptoms and make the skin surface smoother, such as retinoic acid (retinoic acid), fruit acid, salicylic acid and urea.

Retinoic acid ointments, the effect of retinoic acid is more profound, it can directly affect the cell nucleus and remove abnormal keratinization, and long-term use will achieve a certain therapeutic effect. The application of retinoic acid should start with a low concentration, such as 0.05%~0.1%, to avoid irritation to the skin, and should be used once a day at night.

Salicylic acid ointments Salicylic acid itself is fat-soluble, and can just follow the opening of the hair follicles and follow the skin oil to reach the keratinized area, thereby dissolving the keratin and improving symptoms. 3.5% salicylic acid has a very good therapeutic effect.

Urea ointments Urea has the function of retaining water and is also effective in removing dead skin cells. It is a topical medicine commonly used in clinical practice.

Precautions for using ointment on chicken skin

1. The drug needs to be used for a long time to be effective.

2. After taking a shower, the skin is highly hydrated and the cuticle becomes softened. Applying ointment at this time will have a better effect. However, if the skin feels too irritated, it is recommended to apply the medicine after 30 minutes.

3. The production of keratin has a certain cycle, usually one month. Using ointments is only a "symptomatic treatment" because the innate genes cannot be changed, so the newly generated keratin will still have keratinization of the hair follicles.
