Left frontal lobe infarction

Left frontal lobe infarction

The elderly often have many underlying diseases, such as high blood pressure, dyslipidemia, high blood sugar, and atherosclerosis. These factors are the main causes of stroke in these people. Stroke is divided into many different parts. Among them, the blockage site of left frontal lobe infarction occurs in the frontal lobe of the left side of the brain. The harm caused by this type of cerebral infarction to the human body is reflected in all aspects. Let’s take a look together below.

1. Concept

Cerebral infarction is a cerebrovascular disease caused by cerebral atherosclerosis, which causes damage to the vascular endothelium and narrowing of the cerebral artery lumen. Subsequently, due to various factors, local thrombosis occurs, which aggravates the arterial stenosis or completely blocks it, leading to ischemia, hypoxia, and necrosis of brain tissue, causing neurological dysfunction. The infarction site of left frontal lobe cerebral infarction occurs in the left frontal lobe of the brain, which can be simply understood as the part inside the frontal bone of the left forehead.

2. Symptoms

1. Headache, numbness or weakness in the limbs, difficulty walking, and intellectual disability.

2. In the early stages of the disease, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, cranial nerve disorders, facial and leg nerve disorders, hemiplegia, and incontinence may occur.

3. Causes

It is related to hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, etc.

IV. Hazards

Mild left frontal lobe cerebral infarction, especially when the site of infarction is not very critical, sometimes the symptoms are not very obvious, but in severe cases it can be life-threatening and is likely to leave sequelae such as hemiplegia, dementia, and incontinence.

5. Diagnosis

The diagnosis of this disease is mainly based on CT or MRI examination.

6. Treatment

1.

The treatment of cerebral infarction mainly focuses on thrombolysis, anti-thrombotic agents, improving blood circulation, nourishing nerves, and promoting functional recovery.

2.

Control blood pressure to avoid high blood pressure that may cause recurrent cerebral infarction, and at the same time use drugs to prevent thrombosis.

3. Eat a light diet and avoid eating too greasy food. Spicy and irritating foods should be avoided.

4. In the early stage of the disease, try to rest in bed. You can get out of bed and walk around appropriately during the recovery period. You should also pay attention to controlling your emotions to avoid drastic mood swings.

5. Exercise appropriately, but avoid strenuous exercise. You can take walks, do stretching exercises, do soft gymnastics, or practice Tai Chi according to your personal circumstances. Do not overdo it and don't feel tired.

VII. Prevention

1.

The diet should be light, low in fat, moderate in protein, high in vitamins and high in fiber. Eat small meals frequently, avoid animal offal and animal oils, eat more vegetables and fruits, maintain a low-salt, low-fat diet, and exercise more.

2.

Each time a cerebral infarction recurs, the condition worsens. Therefore, secondary prevention is very important. Patients should take oral safe therapeutic drugs for a long time and undergo long-term recovery treatment.
