How to treat arm vein thrombosis

How to treat arm vein thrombosis

Venous thrombosis in the arms is also common. If it is serious, it will cause swelling of the arms, darkening of the local skin, and pigmentation. It often causes pain and other symptoms in patients. At this time, it must be treated in time. Drugs can be used for treatment. Some anticoagulant drugs and antiplatelet aggregation drugs are relatively common, and some thrombolytic drugs are also more effective.

Traditional Chinese Medicine has the idea of "preventing illness before it occurs" in its treatment . If thrombosis can be prevented early or its recurrence can be prevented after it occurs, it will be more meaningful than allowing it to develop into a serious disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has a lot to offer in this regard. According to the Western Han Dynasty silk book “Fifty-two Prescriptions for Diseases”, thrombosis is mostly classified as “blood stasis” syndrome. Therefore, in clinical practice, blood circulation-activating and blood stasis-removing drugs are often used to prevent and treat thrombosis. There are many Chinese medicines for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, which can generally be divided into four categories: blood circulation and blood stasis removing medicines, blood nourishing and blood circulation promoting medicines, blood circulation and hemostasis promoting medicines and blood breaking and blood stasis removing medicines. Its representative medicines are: safflower, salvia miltiorrhiza, angelica, Panax notoginseng, and leeches. Some of these blood-activating medicines, such as leeches, are quite potent and generally should not be used casually. If you are not a professional, it is difficult to understand their indications. Modern pharmacological research has also confirmed that hirudin is currently the strongest antiplatelet aggregation drug, and there is no antagonistic drug. The prevention and treatment of thrombosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine is not that simple. What is more important is the emphasis on syndrome differentiation, which is now more popularly known as individualized treatment or medication. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, blood stasis is both a cause of disease and a product of pathology. Blood stasis is caused by specific reasons, and blood stasis will produce some new pathological changes. During treatment, it is necessary to combine other drugs at different times and periods according to the specific situation.

Drug treatment

Antithrombotic drugs can be divided into three categories: anticoagulants, antiplatelet aggregation drugs and thrombolytic drugs: A. Anticoagulants are a class of drugs that interfere with coagulation factors and prevent blood clotting. They are mainly used for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic diseases. B. Antiplatelet aggregation drugs are divided into three generations: aspirin is the first generation, ticlopidine is the second generation, and platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonists are the third generation. Among them, the advent of platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonists is an important milestone in antiplatelet therapy.

C. The fibrin formed during blood coagulation can be broken down into soluble products from the arginine-lysine bonds by the action of plasmin, thereby dissolving the blood clot. Fibrinolytic drugs activate plasmin and promote fibrinolysis. They are also called thrombolytic drugs and are used to treat acute thromboembolic diseases. The first generation of thrombolytic drugs, streptokinase (SK) and urokinase (UK), are still the most widely used varieties at home and abroad. With the advent of a new generation of thrombolytic drugs such as pro-urokinase (Pro-UK), this type of drug is gradually being promoted and applied in clinical practice.
