Sperm has a white streak

Sperm has a white streak

Sperm is directly related to male fertility. If there is a problem with sperm, the consequences can be imagined. In daily life, many men find that there is a white strip in their sperm, which is very different from normal sperm. This abnormality may be due to the failure of sperm to liquefy. We can first understand the situation of sperm liquefaction and figure out our own situation as soon as possible.

The failure of semen to liquefy limits sperm activity, slowing down or inhibiting sperm from entering the uterine cavity for fertilization, thus causing infertility. Increased semen viscosity will affect sperm motility and survival rate. At the same time, the proteolytic enzymes contained in semen can liquefy the thick cervical mucus. Therefore, the increased viscosity of semen will also affect the ability of sperm to penetrate cervical mucus, leading to infertility. Common reasons for semen failure to liquefy are insufficient fibrinolytic enzyme secretion by the prostate due to seminal vesiculitis and prostatitis; deficiency of trace elements (magnesium, zinc, etc.); congenital prostate absence, etc. When semen is in a liquefied state at first, it is very conducive to ejaculation. Then it becomes a jelly-like state so that the semen can stay in the female vagina and not flow out easily. Later it liquefies again to allow the sperm in the semen to be fully active so that they can swim along the female reproductive tract to the fallopian tube, which is conducive to the combination of sperm and egg and fertilization. If this is not the physiological process, it means there is something wrong with the semen.

The reason why semen solidifies into a jelly state is due to the coagulation protein secreted by the seminal vesicles. The proteolytic enzymes and fibrinolytic enzymes secreted by the prostate in semen can break down this coagulation protein and promote the liquefaction of semen. Therefore, the failure of semen to liquefy is caused by an increase in coagulation protein or a decrease in proteolytic enzymes and fibrinolytic enzymes. If semen does not coagulate during semen analysis, it may be caused by a defect in the ejaculatory duct or a congenital lack of seminal vesicles. The failure of semen to liquefy affects the free movement of sperm. Under a microscope, sperm in non-liquefied semen can be seen clumping together and unable to move or only moving slowly. The movement of sperm in this type of semen in the female reproductive tract is obviously hindered. The sperm cannot ascend into the cervical canal, uterine cavity and fallopian tube, and cannot meet the egg, causing fertilization obstacles.

Symptoms: 1. Semen will be thicker or in a gelatinous state, and may appear in flakes, chunks, or clumps. It will not liquefy after being outside the body for more than an hour. 2. Symptoms of difficulty in ejaculation occur, accompanied by ejaculation pain, hematospermia, and even impotence, premature ejaculation, and nocturnal emission. 3. It leads to poor mental state and neurasthenia, such as insomnia, palpitations, dizziness, fatigue, etc. Not only that, some complications may also occur.
