What should I do if I always feel bloated in the afternoon?

In life, many people may have experienced bloating. The cause of bloating is either gastrointestinal dysfunction or disease. In fact, no matter what the cause is, if bloating occurs occasionally, you don’t need to worry too much. It is generally not a big problem. If bloating occurs frequently, it is best to go to the hospital to check what exactly causes the bloating.

Stomach bloating, where does the gas come from?

1. Many bad bacteria in the intestine

There are many kinds of bacteria in the stomach and intestines. If the gastrointestinal flora is disordered, the bad bacteria will produce a lot of gas, which will also cause bloating.

2. Bad eating habits

This is why we often hear parents tell us to eat slowly. Because during the meal, a small amount of gas will indeed enter your stomach along with the food, causing bloating and making your gastrointestinal tract uncomfortable.

3. Excessive intake of gas-producing foods

I have a deep understanding of this. It's like burping after drinking soda. When the carbonated drink enters the body, the gas will be separated out as the temperature rises. If you are in good health, burping and farting are just "letting out gas". But if there is even the slightest problem, the gas will take over the gastrointestinal tract like a foreign species.

4. Poor intestinal motility

If emotions are out of control or gastrointestinal function is poor, resulting in gastrointestinal malfunction, then the long gastrointestinal passage will be blocked. The digestion process will also produce gas, and if the gastrointestinal tract is blocked, the gas cannot be released. Traditional Chinese medicine also believes that "the disease is mostly caused by internal injuries from the seven emotions, external invasion of the six evils, improper diet, and excessive sexual intercourse, which lead to damage to the spleen and earth, dysfunction of transportation, mixing of clear and turbid, obstruction of the tunnels, and stagnation of water, dampness, phlegm and blood stasis". These are the main causes of stomach bloating.

No matter what causes bloating, you must treat it in time after it occurs. So what should you do if you have bloating?

Three ways to deal with bloating

1. Boil burdock in water

In addition to clearing away heat, detoxifying and removing dampness, burdock can also aid digestion and relieve bloating.

Buy a fresh burdock, slice it and boil it in water. After boiling, let it cool down and then take it.

2. Sour plum soup

It is both appetizing and helpful for digestion. Sour plum soup is perfect before, during, or after meals.

Note: the sour plum essence is useless. It must be the one made from black plum, tangerine peel, hawthorn, licorice, roselle, etc.

3. Scraping the elbows

It hurts! It hurts! But I had to endure the pain. I used this method to solve the problem of bloating several times. If you have a scraping board and scraping oil, scrape the elbows of both hands 100 times each. If you don't have the tools or find it troublesome, you can directly use your palms to cup the sha. Keep your palms relaxed, and don't need to use too much force or hold back. Just cup the elbows naturally.

Note: For those whose Qi and blood are weak and it is not easy to get sha, cupping will be more effective.

In addition, you also need to take preventive measures against bloating.

1. Chew slowly

Eat slowly and chew thoroughly. It is recommended that you chew the first three bites of food 25 times when eating each meal.

2. Exercise properly

Exercising moderately for about an hour every day can not only help you overcome negative emotions, but also help the digestive system maintain normal function.

3. Drink water

So, drinking a small glass of water slowly while eating can help with digestion. Also, if you have bloating problems, it's best not to drink soda.

3. Eat less high-fiber foods

Foods such as potatoes, pasta, beans, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, etc. are all easy to produce gas in the stomach and intestines, which eventually leads to abdominal bloating. Don't eat food that is difficult to digest.

5. Overcome negative emotions

Negative emotions such as anxiety, worry, sadness, frustration, and depression may weaken the digestive function or stimulate the stomach to produce too much gastric acid, resulting in increased stomach gas and increased abdominal bloating.

By doing these things, you can effectively prevent bloating and reduce the harm to your health.
