Chicken gizzard lining is a medicine that is widely used in clinical medicine, especially in traditional Chinese medicine. 1. Introduction to Chicken Gizzard

Chicken gizzard lining refers to the inner wall of the gizzard of a domestic chicken, which is a digestive organ used to grind food. This product is one of the traditional Chinese medicines and is used to treat indigestion, nocturnal emission, night sweats, etc. It has excellent effects, so it is named "gold".

2. Clinical Application

1. To treat ulcers, take 3 grams of rhubarb, 10 grams each of roasted aconite and chicken's gizzard lining, 30 grams of salvia miltiorrhiza, 18 grams of white peony root, and 6 grams of roasted licorice. 200 mg of GABA tablets and 2 g of Sulfate-free Chicken Gizzard Tablets. Roast the Chinese medicine to dry and grind it into extremely fine powder together with the Western medicine. Make it into 10 pills with honey. Take 1 pill each time, twice a day. Take with rice soup or warm water. If you feel nauseous, take it with ginger soup. One course of treatment is 15 days.

2. To treat flat warts, soak 100 grams of chicken gizzard lining and 300 ml of rice vinegar for 30 hours, then dip the liquid medicine and apply it to the affected area, 3 times a day.

3. To treat anorexia in children, take 10 grams of chicken gizzard lining and 8 grams of light scorpion. Grind into very fine powder and bottle for later use. For children under 2 years old, take 0.3 grams each time, twice a day; for children over 3 years old, take 0.6 grams each time, twice a day. One course of treatment is 4 consecutive days of medication, with a 3-day interval between each course. Do not eat raw, cold, greasy food during the medication period.

4. To treat diarrhea in children, take 30g each of fried Plantago seeds and fried chicken gizzard lining, grind them into fine powder, and bottle them for later use. When using, take an appropriate amount of the powder and add egg white to mix it into a paste and apply it to the navel, then fix it with gauze and adhesive tape. Change the dressing once a day, 5 times as a course of treatment.

3. Commonly used prescriptions

①To treat abdominal distension caused by food accumulation: Grind chicken’s gizzard lining into powder and take with milk. (Compendium of Materia Medica)

②To treat abdominal distension and qi accumulation: one ox brain (soaked in wine with chicken gizzard overnight), one rooster’s gizzard lining, one bowl of potassium nitrate (cleaned), 5 grams each of talcum powder, agarwood, amomum villosum and costus root. Roast the ox brain in a copper pot until dry, then put all the other ingredients into the pestle and pound them a thousand times before roasting. Take 5 grams each time, mixed with liquor, three times a day. (Sheng Hui Fang)

③To treat nausea, vomiting after eating, and shortness of breath: burn chicken gizzard lining into ashes and drink with wine. (Qianjin Fang)

④ Treat damp-cold in the spleen and stomach, decreased appetite, chronic diarrhea, and indigestion: 200 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, 100 grams of dried ginger, 100 grams of chicken gizzard lining, and 250 grams of cooked jujube meat. Of the above four herbs, crush the Atractylodes macrocephala and chicken's gizzard lining into small pieces and roast them thoroughly; then crush the dried ginger into small pieces and add the jujube pulp together, mash them into a paste, make small cakes, and roast them over charcoal fire until dry.
