How to relax the cervical spine

How to relax the cervical spine

If you maintain a posture for a long time, the cervical spine will become stiff, which may cause cervical spondylosis over time. Therefore, you must take precautions in your daily life, especially for people who work at a desk for a long time. After working for a period of time, you should learn to relax the cervical spine, which can play a good role in preventing cervical spondylosis. The method of relaxing cervical spondylosis is relatively simple and also has a better preventive effect.

How to relax the cervical spine

Action 1: Shake your head. Shaking your head in a circular motion around your neck is both simple and effective in preventing cervical spondylosis. Nodding your head back and forth and left and right has the same effect. Action 2: M-shaped exercise. Imagine there is a piece of white paper in front of you, with your neck as the pen holder and your chin as the pen tip, and you write the word "米" repeatedly on the "white paper". Action three: Look left, right, up and down. Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a vertical cross, and look left, right, up, and down. Action 4: Exercise at 10:10. At 0:10, the hour and minute hands of the clock are at symmetrical angles. Stand or sit upright, raise your arms in a "10:10" position, lift your head and chest, and take a deep breath to relieve pressure on your cervical spine.

Action 5: Chest expansion exercise. There are three main types: bend your arms upward into an arc, with your fingers touching your shoulders, and rotate them clockwise and counterclockwise several times respectively; bend your arms and move them back and forth from the chest to behind your shoulder blades; cross your hands around your shoulders and rotate your chest left and right.

Symptoms of cervical spondylosis

1. Dizziness: Dizziness is a common symptom in patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis. Vertigo symptoms are induced by changes in patient position due to extension or rotation of the neck. Vertigo caused by ischemic lesions of the vestibular nerve nucleus generally lasts for a short time, disappearing within seconds to minutes. Some patients feel nauseous, and cannot raise their heads during acute attacks. A few patients have symptoms such as diplopia, nystagmus, tinnitus, and deafness. 2. Headache: Patients with vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis usually experience headache and dizziness at the same time when the disease occurs. Among them, occipital neuropathy is the main cause of headaches, because the occipital artery, a branch of the vertebral artery, supplies the greater occipital nerve. Clinically, vertebral artery spasm leads to cervical spondylosis. 3. Visual impairment: Due to cervical spondylosis causing spasm of the vertebral-basilar artery system and secondary ischemic lesions in the visual center of the occipital lobe of the brain, a small number of patients may experience decreased vision or visual field defects, and severe cases may even cause blindness. 4. Sudden fall: When the patient's neck is rotated, he suddenly feels his lower limbs go weak and falls. The clinical characteristics are: when the disease occurs, the patient is conscious and can get up and even walk on his own in a short time. This is different from other cerebrovascular diseases. 5. Radicular symptoms: Due to local anatomical reasons, patients with vertebral artery type often also have radicular symptoms.
