What happened to the holiday postponement?

Menstruation is something that every girl experiences. Some girls will have very strong reactions during menstruation, such as severe abdominal pain, general weakness, back and leg pain, etc. Some girls will not have much reaction. These are all issues that deserve everyone's attention. Because menstruation can be said to be a benchmark of whether a woman's body is healthy. However, menstruation itself can also cause problems. The most common one is delayed menstruation. Why does it get delayed?

Delayed menstruation is a problem that many women have encountered. Generally speaking, there are two main reasons for delayed menstruation. One is pregnancy, and the other is delayed menstruation caused by irregular menstruation. Generally speaking, the normal menstrual cycle is 28-35 days. A delay of about 7 days is still within the normal range. If menstruation has not come for more than 14 days, women can use test strips to test whether they are pregnant. If the test shows no pregnancy, women should pay attention at this time.

Women of childbearing age who have had sexual life always suspect they are pregnant as soon as their menstruation is delayed. So how many days of delayed menstruation should be used to take a pregnancy test? If your menstrual cycle has always been normal, with no signs of delay, and you show some signs of pregnancy, you should test your urine with an early pregnancy test strip on the fifth day after your period is delayed (or the fifth day calculated from the start of your period). If the result is positive, you should have a gynecological pelvic examination.

Many women are wondering how to determine whether delayed menstruation means pregnancy? You can first judge based on your own feelings about some pregnancy symptoms, and you can also do a simple test at home using early pregnancy test strips. Although early pregnancy test strips are not 100% accurate, the results in most cases can be used for reference.

Reasons for delayed menstruation: gynecological diseases

1. Cervical adhesion: There is menstrual blood, but the menstrual blood cannot be discharged normally due to adhesion of the cervix and accumulates in the uterus. The patient will have periodic abdominal pain. B-ultrasound examination can show dark areas in the uterine cavity, and it is often necessary to go to the hospital for cervical dilation. If this situation is not improved in time, it will lead to endometriosis.

2. Premature ovarian failure: It is caused by abnormal ovarian function. It often manifests as delayed menstruation, infrequent menstruation, amenorrhea and infertility. Symptoms similar to menopause such as vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, hot flashes and insomnia may occur.

3. Polycystic ovary syndrome: In addition to infrequent menstruation, it also has three other characteristics: anovulation, obesity, and hirsutism. This disease can not only cause irregular menstruation and infertility, but also is likely to increase the risk of hypertension, diabetes, and endometrial cancer.

4. Abnormal thyroid function: Thyroid problems seem to be more common in women. Whether it is hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, it will affect menstruation. When the thyroid gland is overactive, the frequency and volume of menstruation decreases, and the time between periods becomes longer. When the thyroid function is low, the menstrual blood increases and the bleeding time is prolonged, but patients with long-term illness will have less menstruation or even no menstruation.
