Breast pain?

Breast pain?

Many people will ask, what should I do if I often feel breast pain? What exactly is causing breast pain? In fact, in addition to physiological reasons, breast pain also has pathological reasons. Many diseases may cause breast pain. Here I will introduce to you the types of diseases that may be caused by breast pain, the indicators of related pain, and what measures can be taken when breast pain occurs.

A definition of pain:

According to the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), pain is a painful experience with sensory, emotional, cognitive, and social dimensions associated with tissue damage or the potential for tissue damage. Simply put, pain is an unpleasant experience + an emotional response.

Second pain rating:

VAS pain scoring system

The degree of pain is represented by 11 numbers from 0 to 10, with 0 indicating no pain and 10 indicating the most painful. Too many breastfeeding mothers say that giving birth did not make them suffer too much, but the pain of mastitis during lactation was unbearable!

0 points: no pain

3 points or less: Mild pain that the patient can tolerate

4-6 points: The patient has pain that affects sleep, but can tolerate it

7-10 points: The patient has strong pain, which is severe or unbearable

Three reasons for breast pain during lactation:

1. Pain caused by milk stasis

If the interval between breastfeeding is too long, breast lumps will appear, which will be painful when pressed, and white spots may be visible on some nipples.

(ii): Breast inflammation pain

(III): Nipple cracking and pain

(IV): Normal breastfeeding pain

Four first aid measures:

(1) Insist on breastfeeding regularly and allow the baby to fully suck. Empty the milk from one side first, then the other side. Express the remaining milk.

(ii) Cold compress. Do not apply hot compress during the early stages of milk effusion and inflammation, as this may easily spread the inflammation.

Borneol, Glauber's salt, more than four hours.

(3) The hospital's standardized massage will slowly expel the "nipple plug" formed by fat in the mammary duct along the milk duct.

(iv) For nipple cracks, apply antibiotic ointment and keep underwear and nipples clean.

(V) Psychological comfort treatment for normal breastfeeding pain.

(VI) Oral antibiotic treatment, strictly follow the doctor's instructions.
