Calf liposuction sequelae

Calf liposuction sequelae

If your calves are too thick and have too much fat, you can also treat them with calf liposuction. When doing this treatment, you must go to a regular hospital. If the operation is not performed properly, or the patient's physical condition is not suitable for such liposuction, it will often cause sequelae, easily lead to surgical infection, easy to cause skin collapse, easy to form scars, etc., and even cause numbness on the skin surface, etc.

Calf liposuction sequelae

1. Liposuction is harmful to the body: Those who have thicker fat layers on their legs can choose to lose weight through liposuction, but some people's legs are only made up of thick muscles. At this time, using liposuction to slim down the legs can easily cause harm to the body. People with venous inflammation, especially varicose veins in the calves or loose skin, should not undergo liposuction surgery.

2. Postoperative infection: It mainly depends on the hospital's sterile conditions, the doctor's operation and the patient's physical condition, including postoperative recovery conditions, whether preventive antibiotics are used reasonably and other factors.

3. Scars left by the skin flap in the surgical area: If too much subcutaneous fat is sucked out during the operation, the blood circulation of the skin will be disrupted, and skin blisters may appear, resulting in scars left after the operation and affecting the appearance. At this point, the doctor's technical level is very important.

4. Numbness and abnormal sensation in the surgical area: After liposuction, the skin sensation in the liposuction area will inevitably be affected, causing numbness and abnormal sensation. Generally, it will gradually recover 1-3 months after the operation, otherwise you need to seek medical attention in time.

5. Delayed healing: Liposuction wounds are generally only a few millimeters in size and are relatively easy to heal. However, if there are factors such as severe injury, infection, and fluid accumulation, delayed healing may occur, and the scars after healing will be more obvious.

Postoperative care is important

1. Take medicine as prescribed by your doctor to relieve pain

Before liposuction or lipolysis surgery, general or local anesthesia is required. Once the anesthetic wears off, there will be varying degrees of pain. At this time, you can take oral or injected analgesics according to the doctor's instructions to relieve discomfort.

2. Take care of surgical wounds to prevent infection

Traditional liposuction, water jet liposuction, and laser lipolysis are all invasive treatments. The first two require larger incisions and require sutures after surgery, while the wound of laser lipolysis is only the size of a pinhole and does not require sutures. However, special attention must be paid to the problem of postoperative wound infection. Especially in the first three days after liposuction surgery, the wound is prone to exuding a large amount of tissue fluid. Sterile cotton pads must be changed frequently to keep the wound clean and prevent infection caused by the invasion of tin troops.

3. Raise your legs to reduce swelling

If the surgical site is the thigh or calf, in order to allow the lymphatic tissue fluid to flow smoothly, the patient should raise the leg as high as possible to reduce swelling. In addition, after the stitches are removed, you can also massage the affected lymph nodes to eliminate excess tissue fluid in the body and improve the unevenness of the epidermis.
