What is the effect of the Sanfutian sticker?

The Chinese herbs used in Sanfutie, white mustard, asarum, and gansui, can warm the lungs and dispel cold, relieve cough and asthma, resolve phlegm and resolve stagnation, and open up the orifices and dredge the meridians. Asarum also has an immunosuppressive effect, which can reduce antigen-antibody reactions in patients with allergic constitutions, reduce the chance of allergic attacks, and alleviate allergic symptoms. Ginger juice has the effect of dispelling cold and relieving cough, so its combined use helps improve asthma.

The volatile oil of Asarum contains safrole, a highly toxic substance that is carcinogenic and mutagenic. Gan Sui contains toxic components of polyoxyditerpenes, which have synergistic carcinogenic effects and are one of the 52 carcinogenic plants.

It can be used for various lung diseases such as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, cor pulmonale, chronic cough, recurrent colds, chronic rhinitis, chronic pharyngitis, etc.; rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis; chronic gastroenteritis, chronic gastritis, stomach pain, ulcer disease, chronic diarrhea; anorexia and enuresis in children; cold headache, neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain, chest and abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea and other cold diseases.

What is Sanfutie

Sanfutie, also known as Sanfutianjiu, is a Chinese medicine method that originated in the Qing Dynasty. It is based on the principle of "treating winter diseases in summer" and involves applying Chinese medicine to specific acupuncture points during the three hottest days of the year ("Sanfutian") to treat diseases that occur in autumn and winter. The plasters are as big as a bank card and are usually used in groups of four. For different diseases, four plasters are usually applied together to different locations on the back and can be removed after eight hours.

The three hottest days of the year are calculated according to the lunar calendar. The third Geng day after the summer solstice is the first dog days, the fourth Geng day (ten days later) is the middle dog days, and the fifth Geng day (ten days later) is the last dog days. They are the hottest days of the year when the human body's yang energy is the most vigorous. During the dog days of summer moxibustion, pungent and warm external medicinal materials such as ginger, white mustard, musk, and asarum are used and applied to specific acupuncture points on the body. This can prevent and treat allergic rhinitis, pharyngitis, asthma, cough, chronic bronchitis and other diseases that occur in autumn and winter. The Chinese government encourages people to use Sanfutie to prevent diseases, and Sanfutie is covered by medical insurance.
