Itching is the symptom that everyone dislikes the most. The affected area is itchy and painful, and it is really uncomfortable if you don’t scratch it. However, scratching too hard or for too long will cause the skin to break and lead to wound infection. So it is really helpless to face itching. If you want to cure itching diseases, the first thing you need to do is to stop the itching. Here I will introduce some information about the treatment of itching problems. Patients with generalized pruritus feel itchy all over the body, but the itching does not occur all over the body at the same time. The itching often moves from one place to another. The degree of itching varies. Some people feel itchy skin but can still bear it. Some patients feel itchy all over the body and need to scrub the skin with an iron brush or wash with hot water until the skin bleeds and feels pain and burning pain, and the itching sensation is temporarily relieved. The itching is often more severe at night, and the patient suffers from insomnia or cannot sleep well due to the itching. Due to severe itching and constant scratching, scratches, blood scabs, or strip-like scratches may appear, sometimes with eczematous changes, lichenification, or pigmentation. Scratched skin is also prone to infection and may cause boils or folliculitis. Treatment principles: Actively treat the primary disease, avoid contact with various inducements, calm itching, and combine systemic treatment with local treatment. 1. General treatment (1) Find the cause and provide appropriate treatment. (2) Avoid various external stimuli, pay attention to skin hygiene, combine work and rest, strive to lead a regular life, and limit smoking, alcohol, strong tea, coffee, spicy and other irritating foods. 2. Systemic treatment (1) Oral or injection of antihistamines, 5-HT antagonists and sedatives. Such as chlorpheniramine (chlorpheniramine), diphenhydramine, cyproheptadine, cetirizine, astemizole, terfenadine, loratadine, cimetidine (cimetidine), ranitidine, diazepam (Valium), etc. These drugs can be selected according to the condition. H2 receptor antagonists alone have a certain effect on the pruritus caused by Hodgkin's disease and polycythemia. (2) For patients with severe itching, 10% calcium gluconate can be injected intravenously or 0.25% procaine hydrochloride and 1.0-2.0g of vitamin C can be added to 500ml of normal saline or compound sodium chloride solution and dripped intravenously. Naloxone can be used for patients with intractable pruritus, but it is potentially addictive. I believe everyone has experienced the symptoms of itchy skin. What we need to remind everyone is that when the skin is itchy, do not scratch the blisters hard to avoid breaking the skin. To prevent more serious infections, pay attention to personal hygiene, change clothes frequently, eat less spicy and other irritating foods, maintain a regular life, and try to choose pure cotton clothes to keep the affected area breathable. |
