Blisters on legs like burns

Blisters on legs like burns

Many people have had blisters grow on certain parts of the body. Sometimes the blisters look like burns, and many times these blisters are herpes. Herpes is a relatively common skin disease. When herpes occurs, the patient will experience severe pain in the affected area. At this time, it is best to go to the hospital for examination to find out the cause of herpes and then receive treatment.

1. Basal cell liquefaction and basement membrane lesions:

Basal cell liquefaction refers to the cavitation or fragmentation of epidermal basal cells. In severe cases, the basal cell layer disappears and the spinous cells are in direct contact with the dermis. Immune, genetic and drug allergies are often the causes of basal cell liquefaction, which is seen in hereditary epidermolysis macrocarcinoma, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, etc. The causes of basement membrane lesions are autoimmune and genetic. Watery dysentery diseases caused by basement membrane lesions include pemphigoid carcinoma, herpes gestationis, dermatitis herpetiformis, etc.

2. Balloon degeneration and reticular degeneration:

Due to intracellular edema, the volume of epidermal cells increases, forming a balloon shape. The cells swell and rupture, and the adjacent remaining cell membranes connect into multiple reticular septa, finally forming multilocular ulcers, which are more common in viral infectious skin diseases.

3. Herpes virus infection:

HSV infection is common among the population, and humans are the natural host of the herpes virus. The main sources of infection are genital herpes patients and asymptomatic virus carriers. The main route of transmission is sexual contact with people with genital herpes, but asymptomatic carriers with a history of herpes are also sources of infection. In adults, the positive rate of genital herpes virus antibodies is relatively high, generally about 10-70%, which mainly varies with socioeconomic status and sexual life.

5. Spinolysis:

Due to the degeneration of bridges between epidermal cells (desmosomes and tension filaments, etc.), the cells lose their close connection and become loose, thus forming cracks, blisters or blisters in the epidermis. Acantholysis can be caused by autoimmune factors, such as pemphigus. Acantholysis caused by genetic factors is seen in chronic familial benign eczema and keratosis follicularis.

6. Granular degeneration of the epidermis:

Also known as epidermolytic hyperkeratosis, seen in ichthyosis.

7. Epidermal necrosis and exfoliation:

Due to drugs and Staphylococcus aureus infection, epidermal necrosis and epidermal exfoliation are seen in large cancer epidermolytic drug eruption and Staphylococcus aureus scald syndrome.

8. Spongioedema:

Boils are formed due to the widening of the intercellular spaces caused by the increase of intercellular fluid. They are seen in eczema, contact dermatitis, and sweat herpes.

9. Vasculitis

It is mostly caused by immune complex type allergic reaction, and ulcers are formed due to inflammation and necrosis of tissues, such as allergic vasculitis. Behcet's disease, acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis, etc.
