The groin is a relatively important part of our human body. It is a tissue that connects our upper and lower body, and it plays a big role in our cognition. It controls various activities of our body, such as bending over, walking, etc. The position of the inguinal ligament is quite special, and many people do not know its location. So where is the location of the inguinal ligament? The lower edge of the external oblique muscle aponeurosis is thickened and curled, connecting between the anterior superior iliac spine and the pubic tubercle. The groin is an important part that connects the abdomen and thighs. Because it is very close to the external genitalia, it is often regarded as a private part. The moisture and airtightness in the groin area often become a health hazard. The groin is the main area of sexual activity and one of the important sexual sensitive areas. For adult men, stimulation of the inguinal canal can enhance testicular function. For sexual function treatment, testicular massage can enhance male sexual function. But what is more effective is to stimulate the inguinal canal on both sides of the base of the penis. The groin is the pathway for blood and nerves to the testicles. If the inguinal canal function is impaired, it will inevitably lead to testicular dysfunction. Therefore, it is important to have good blood circulation in the inguinal canal. For adult women, stimulation of the groin can also enhance or improve sexual desire. The moisture and airtightness in the groin area often become a health hazard. The inguinal region is located between the horizontal line of the anterior superior iliac spine and the outer edge of the rectus abdominis muscle and the inguinal ligament. Part of this area is horizontal, and the weight-bearing capacity is increased; the direction of the muscle fibers tends to be consistent, and the barrier wall ability is weakened; and there are organs passing through, causing cracks in the wall to form the inguinal canal; due to many factors, this area is the weakest part of the anterior and lateral abdominal wall, and the latter is most closely related to it. The groin is a triangular area on both sides of the lower abdomen. Its medial boundary is the outer edge of the rectus abdominis muscle, its upper boundary is the horizontal line from the anterior superior iliac spine to the outer edge of the rectus abdominis muscle, and its lower boundary is the inguinal ligament. This area is relatively weak. The reasons are: the external oblique muscle here transforms into a thinner aponeurosis and forms a fissure underneath it; the lower edges of the internal oblique muscle and the transverse abdominal muscle do not reach the medial part of the inguinal ligament, so this part is not covered by muscle; the spermatic cord or round ligament of the uterus passes through the inguinal canal and forms a potential fissure. In addition, when the human body is standing, the intra-abdominal pressure in the groin area is about three times higher than when lying flat. Due to the above anatomical and physiological characteristics, hernias often occur in this area. |
