Non-healing frenulum tear

Non-healing frenulum tear

The foreskin is a tissue unique to men, used to wrap the glans penis. The frenulum is a tissue on the foreskin, located between the foreskin and the glans penis. Men's foreskin often has some diseases, and the frenulum can also have diseases, such as cracks. Cracks can be caused by various reasons, and it may also cause the cracks to not heal. So what should I do if the frenulum cracks do not heal?

The frenulum is located in the lower part of the glans penis and also exists inside the foreskin. It is connected to the lower part of the urethral opening of the glans penis through the coronal sulcus and contains abundant blood vessels. It has strong elasticity and can be significantly extended when the penis is erect, and significantly shortened when the penis is soft.

There is a skin fold in the middle of the penis that connects the glans and the penis body, called the frenulum. The frenulum is mainly responsible for somatic sensation and afferent pudendal nerve, the most important branch of the dorsal penile nerve, which is distributed to the back of the penis, mainly the skin of the glans. In particular, one of its small branches is specifically distributed to the frenulum, so the frenulum is very sensitive to external stimuli. It and the coronal margin are the most sensitive parts of the penis and are one of the important sexual sensitivity areas of men.

Because each person's penis development is different, the length and tension of the frenulum are also different. If it is short and tight, the glans will tilt downward during erection and may be torn due to excessive force during sexual intercourse, causing bleeding and pain. Frenulum rupture is mostly caused by excessive or improper force during sexual intercourse, and often occurs in people with foreskin that is too long. There is no need to suture the frenulum to restore it to its original shape after it is broken. Generally, only simple pressure is applied to stop bleeding. It is best to clean, disinfect and bandage the area to prevent infection. You will recover after resting for three or four days. To prevent the wound from reopening, sexual intercourse is prohibited within one week. If bleeding does not stop, go to the hospital. If the healing is not good and scars are formed or the frenulum is too short, it may cause the penis to bend or be painful during erection, thus affecting future sexual life.

Frenulum rupture occurs more or less in patients with long foreskin or phimosis. Depending on the degree of rupture, if the wound is large and difficult to heal completely, it is easy to rupture again. Over time, the pain stimulation will reduce the quality of sexual life.

Suggestions: External medications cannot solve the problem fundamentally. It is recommended that you go to a regular hospital in time. If it is convenient, you can also go to our andrology center to have a foreskin and frenulum plastic surgery to solve the problem. This is very simple and convenient. It not only prevents breakage after the operation, but also reduces infection and improves the quality of sexual life.

In this case, conservative treatments such as simple dressing changes are difficult to cure. A debridement operation can be performed to remove all the stale tissue around the wound, and then suture it.
