What to do if you have pharyngitis and a sore throat

Patients with pharyngitis are prone to symptoms such as sore throat and cough. If you want to effectively relieve the symptoms, you should pay attention to care in your life, keep the environment ventilated and dry, avoid spicy and irritating foods, and stay away from tobacco and alcohol.

1. Open windows frequently for ventilation : Keeping the air circulating will reduce the risk of respiratory diseases and is an effective measure for the treatment of chronic pharyngitis.

Pay attention to oral hygiene. You can gargle with light salt water in the morning and evening. After gargling, you may want to drink a glass of light salt water to prevent bacterial infection. Eat more fruits and vegetables containing vitamin C, as well as foods rich in collagen and elastin, such as pig's trotters, fish, milk, beans, animal liver, lean meat, etc.

2. The temperature in the room should not be too cold when sleeping ; dry your body and blow dry your hair in time after taking a shower or washing your hair; wear a mask when going out or riding a bike in the morning on cold days to protect your mouth and nose from the irritation of dry and cold air. Therefore, pay attention to keeping warm and prevent and treat oral and nasal diseases. The onset of chronic pharyngitis is related to not keeping the mouth, nose and body warm.

3. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, ginger, pepper, mustard, garlic and all spicy foods. Eat a light and easily digestible diet. At the same time, eat more refreshing, heat-removing, soft, tender and juicy foods.

4. Fumigating the throat with salt water is also a good way to relieve the condition . Use a large bowl or soup basin, put some boiled salt water in it, open your mouth wide and inhale and exhale the salt water, for about 10-15 minutes each time, 2-3 times a day. Usually, you must drink more boiled water at the right temperature!
