What is myocardial damage?

What is myocardial damage?

In recent years, the incidence of myocardial disease has gradually increased and there is no sign of stopping. Although timely treatment methods have been greatly improved compared to the past, it is still difficult to change this phenomenon. There are still people dying from cardiomyopathy every year. There are still many people who do not know what myocardial damage is. So today I will give you a brief introduction on what myocardial damage is.

Senile cardiomyopathy refers to an unexplained degenerative disease of the myocardium in the elderly during the aging process. It is an important cause of heart failure in the elderly and one of the diseases that cause death in the elderly. Elderly patients with cardiomyopathy often experience palpitations and shortness of breath after activity.

Elderly cardiomyopathy generally has a long course. It can be relatively stable for many years and then relapse, causing chronic heart failure for several years or longer. Once severe heart failure occurs, the prognosis is poor. The most common clinical manifestations are decreased cardiac reserve and heart failure. Heart failure caused solely by elderly cardiomyopathy is not common and often occurs under stressful conditions, such as hyperthyroidism, anemia, surgical infection, fatigue, and high fever, which will lead to clinical manifestations of heart failure. The most important manifestation of cardiomyopathy in the elderly is latent heart failure. Under normal conditions, severe heart failure or heart failure is not obvious; heart failure is often induced by infection, excessive infusion and excessive fatigue.

Myocardial strain refers to the long-term overwork of the myocardium under high load, such as excessive obesity, high blood pressure, work stress and high mental stress, which lead to myocardial damage. At this time, the myocardium may be ischemic or have normal blood supply.

Mild myocardial damage may cause this kind of simple involuntary deep breathing, and there may be no other symptoms. Other common symptoms include fatigue, palpitations, etc. Generally speaking, myocardial damage should first manifest in abnormal electrocardiogram. If the electrocardiogram is normal, there is usually no big problem. Creatine kinase isoenzyme is a very sensitive indicator. If it is elevated, it generally indicates myocardial damage, but it recovers relatively quickly. From the information you provided, I think myocardial damage should still be considered. It decreased during the reexamination, which should mean that the myocardial enzyme has recovered. Treatment requires hospitalization and the use of myocardial nutrition drugs, while strictly restricting activity.

In general, myocardial damage is caused by deficiency of Qi and blood, which leads to dysfunction of nutrition and nourishment. The myocardium loses nutrition, becomes ischemic and hypoxic, and thus causes precordial pain, chest tightness, shortness of breath, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital's cardiovascular department for an electrocardiogram and cardiac color ultrasound for diagnosis and treatment, and to give qi and blood tonifying, blood circulation, blood stasis and analgesic drugs such as Xuefu Zhuyu Tablets and Compound Danshen Tablets for treatment, and to eat a low-salt and low-fat diet, maintain a calm state of mind, do not get excited, and do not overwork.
