Hernia is a relatively common disease. Hernia is a slight displacement of organs in the body, causing body disharmony. Currently, the simplest, direct and effective treatment for hernia is surgery. However, some patients experienced recurrence after surgery, which was due to poor postoperative care. 1. Diet1: 1. Do not eat or drink anything including water within four hours after the operation. 2. After four hours, if the gastrointestinal motility is normal, you can drink boiled water first. If there is no vomiting or other discomfort, you can eat soft and easily digestible food. 3. Drink more boiled water and eat more vegetables, fruits and other fiber-rich foods. 2. Activities1: 1. Avoid excessive abdominal exertion. 2. To avoid bladder distension, remember not to hold your urine. 3. Wounds1: 1. The wound must not be exposed to water after the operation and do not take a bath for the time being. 2. Keep the wound clean and dry at all times, and change the dressing on time as ordered by the doctor. 3. If the wound bleeds, becomes red, swollen, hot, painful, has exudate, or has a high fever, please return to the hospital for treatment immediately. Four: Other1: 1. Take painkillers on time. 2. Go to the hospital for a follow-up visit as directed by your doctor. 3. If you find that you have a fever of over 38 degrees, or there is secretion from the wound, redness and swelling, wound rupture, or severe swelling of the scrotum on the affected side, please come to the hospital for treatment immediately. 4. If male patients find abnormal swelling of the scrotum or recurrent hernia, please notify medical staff immediately. 2: You should lie flat on the bed after the operation. If you want to sit in a semi-lying position, you should bend your knees to avoid increasing abdominal pressure. Usually, you can get out of bed and move around on the day of the operation, but you should avoid squatting to avoid involving the wound. If the wound or scrotum is swollen, you need to stay in bed and wait until the swelling disappears before getting out of bed. If you find that the wound is red, swollen, hot, painful, has secretions, odor or bleeding, please return to the doctor for treatment as soon as possible. 3: To prevent complications of anesthesia, please take deep breaths and cough frequently, and turn over frequently. If you have phlegm, please cough it out, but remember to hold the wound with your hand when coughing to avoid increased abdominal pressure or involving the wound, which can relieve discomfort. Avoid straining during bowel movements, sit-ups, climbing stairs, and riding a bicycle or motorcycle for one month after surgery. Five: The wound should be kept clean after surgeryKeep it dry to avoid infection. If the gauze is wet, please tell the medical staff to change it for you. Most of the stitches used to suture wounds can be absorbed by themselves and do not need to be removed; but due to different surgeries, you should still ask the doctor whether the stitches need to be removed. Avoid strenuous exercise, strenuous work, or heavy lifting within three months after surgery. |
