How to detect myocardial ischemia

How to detect myocardial ischemia

In life, there is a phenomenon that people are sick but cannot find out until they go to the hospital by chance and the doctor tells them that they are sick. This is actually because people lack knowledge about the disease and do not know the symptoms of the disease. Therefore, we must have a proper understanding of the disease. So today I will tell you how to detect myocardial ischemia.

Myocardial ischemia refers to a pathological condition in which the heart's blood perfusion is reduced, resulting in reduced oxygen supply to the heart, abnormal myocardial energy metabolism, and inability to support the normal functioning of the heart. Coronary artery stenosis or occlusion caused by coronary atherosclerosis is the main and most common cause of myocardial ischemia, which in turn leads to myocardial ischemia and hypoxia. The heart disease caused by this is what we often call "coronary heart disease."

Myocardial ischemia seriously endangers the health of middle-aged and elderly people. In recent years, with the improvement of living standards, coronary atherosclerosis has become younger, and some young people aged 20-30 have also shown symptoms of myocardial ischemia.

1. Low blood pressure, reduced blood supply to the aorta, and obstruction of the coronary arteries can directly lead to reduced blood supply to the heart; valvular heart disease, changes in blood viscosity, and myocardial lesions can also reduce blood supply to the heart.

2. There is another situation where the heart's blood supply does not decrease, but the heart's oxygen demand increases. This is a relative myocardial ischemia.

3. The main and most common cause of myocardial ischemia is coronary artery stenosis. The main cause of coronary artery stenosis is atherosclerosis. The heart disease caused by coronary atherosclerosis is commonly known as coronary heart disease. Therefore, coronary heart disease is the "culprit" of myocardial ischemia.

4. Myocardial ischemia may have many adverse effects on the heart and the whole body. The direct consequence of hypoxia is the weakening of aerobic metabolism of myocardial cells and reduced production capacity, resulting in insufficient supply of energy necessary for cardiac activity, causing angina pectoris, arrhythmias, and decreased cardiac function.

1. Hypertension: Whether it is an increase in systolic or diastolic blood pressure, it is very easy to cause myocardial ischemia; hypertension leads to coronary artery sclerosis, seriously affecting the myocardial blood's ability to self-return.

2. Hyperlipidemia: Elevated blood lipids are the main culprit for inducing thrombosis. The standard value of total cholesterol in blood is 5.2-5.7 mmol/L. If it exceeds this standard, deposits will form, which will reduce the permeability of coronary arteries and the ability to obtain oxygen, thus leading to ischemic necrosis of the myocardium.

3. Smoking and drinking: According to research by the World Health Organization, smokers are 70% or even more likely to develop coronary heart disease than non-smokers. This is because tobacco contains harmful carcinogens such as tar and nicotine, which damage the normal physiological function of the lungs and affect the red blood cells' utilization of oxygen.

4. Diabetes: Diabetes causes the glucose content in the blood to far exceed the normal level. High glucose concentration will affect the tolerance of blood vessels, cause myocardial vascular permeability, and affect normal contraction and relaxation.
