How to deal with pencil scratches on the skin

In my country, when teaching children to write, the first thing we need to teach them is how to hold a pen. Teaching children to hold a pen is relatively important in order to teach them the correct writing posture. When children first start practicing writing, we recommend them to use pencils. However, there are always some babies who accidentally cut their skin with pencils. So, what should we do if a pencil cuts the skin?

A pencil (English: Pencil) is a handheld pen or tool used for writing and drawing on paper. It is made of graphite as the core (except colored pencils) and a wooden rod as the outer covering. The end of the pencil may also have an eraser. The difference between a pencil and other pens (except erasable pens) is that its writing can be easily erased. Black pencils are called "wood black" and colored pencils are called "wood color". Modern pencils are made of "graphite" and clay. The more graphite is added, the softer the lead and the darker the color; the more clay is added, the harder the lead and the lighter the color. Pencils are still called pencils because the earliest irregular or pencil-like pens were made of "lead" metal. Later, in ancient Europe in the Middle Ages when chemistry was just beginning to develop, people mistakenly thought that graphite was a type of lead. Therefore, the word "pencil" has been passed down in many languages and East Asian languages and is widely used without correction.

If your face is scratched, you need to disinfect it promptly to avoid infection. You can use normal saline, hydrogen peroxide, or iodine to disinfect the area. If the wound is not large, it can be exposed or erythromycin ointment can be applied locally

Suggestions: Pencil scratches will leave carbon black marks on the face. As long as you clean it well, the marks will gradually disappear. If the scratch is deep, consider giving a tetanus shot within 24 hours

If it's just a scratch on the skin, it's not a big deal. However, for those with skin prone to scars, if the scars are deep into the dermis, then it is very likely that scars will be left. As time goes by, for some people it will fade away, but for others it will be just the opposite.
