Prescription: Juyuan Decoction combined with Guishen Pills with modifications. 20 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 20 grams of Astragalus membranaceus, 15 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, 6 grams of roasted licorice, 20 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15 grams of Dipsacus asper, 15 grams of Psoralea corylifolia, 20 grams of Cuscuta australis, 10 grams of Artemisia argyi, 30 grams of Polygonum multiflorum, and 12 grams of Angelica sinensis.

Explanation of the prescription: This prescription uses Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus membranaceus, Atractylodes macrocephala to strengthen the spleen and replenish Qi, Rehmannia glutinosa, Psoralea corylifolia, Cuscuta australis, and Dipsacus asper to nourish the kidney, Artemisia argyi to warm the meridians, stop bleeding and regulate menstruation, Polygonum multiflorum and Angelica sinensis to nourish blood and regulate menstruation, and roasted Licorice root to harmonize the various medicines.

Addition and subtraction: During the menstrual period, if the amount of blood is heavy, remove the angelica and add 12 grams of donkey-hide gelatin (dissolved separately), 12 grams of cuttlefish bone, 30 grams of golden cherry, and charcoal of mugwort to stop bleeding. If the menstrual period is prolonged and continuous, add 10 grams of fried Puhuang and 30 grams of Motherwort to remove blood stasis and stop bleeding. For poor appetite, add 20 grams of Chinese yam, 9 grams of Amomum villosum (to be added later), and 6 grams of dried tangerine peel to promote qi and strengthen the spleen and stomach. 2. Liver and kidney yin deficiency type:

Main symptoms: Menstrual cycle often comes early, or the sequence is irregular, the menstrual period is prolonged, the menstrual blood is bright red, the amount of menstrual blood may be more or less, the cheekbones are flushed, the palms and soles are hot, the throat is dry, insomnia and dreaminess, the urine is yellow and scanty, and the stool is hard. The tongue is red, with little coating, and the pulse is thready and rapid.

Treatment method: Nourish the liver and kidneys, clear away heat and regulate menstruation.

Prescription: Erzhi Pills combined with Liangdi Decoction with modifications. 15 grams of Ligustrum lucidum, 18 grams of Eclipta prostrata, 20 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15 grams of White Peony Root, 15 grams of Scrophularia ningpoensis, 15 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 12 grams of Cornus officinalis, 15 grams of Cuscuta australis, and 9 grams of Schisandra chinensis.

Addition and subtraction: During the menstrual period, with heavy menstrual flow, add 12g of donkey-hide gelatin (dissolved separately), 30g of Rhizoma Cyperi, 12g of cuttlefish bone, and 30g of Rhizoma Laevigatae to nourish blood, astringe and stop bleeding. If the menstrual period is prolonged and there is continuous spotting, add 30 grams of Leonurus japonicus, 15 grams of Rubia cordifolia root, 15 grams of Sanguisorba officinalis, 10 grams of Schizonepeta charcoal, and 30 grams of calcined oyster to remove blood stasis, cool blood, and astringe and stop bleeding. Main symptoms: delayed menstruation, scanty menstrual flow, light color, thin texture, dizziness, palpitations, sallow complexion, hollow lower abdomen, pale tongue, thin white fur, and thready pulse.

Treatment method: tonify Qi, nourish blood and regulate menstruation.

Prescription: Modified Zixue Decoction. 15 grams of Angelica sinensis, 30 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 12 grams of white peony root, 10 grams of Chuanxiong, 15 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 15 grams of Astragalus membranaceus, 12 grams of Atractylodes macrocephala, 20 grams of Poria cocos, 30 grams of Millettia reticulata, 20 grams of Polygonatum sibiricum, and 20 grams of Polygonum multiflorum.

Addition and subtraction: If menstruation has not yet arrived in the late stage, add 20 grams of Salvia miltiorrhiza and 9 grams of Achyranthes bidentata to promote blood circulation and unblock menstruation. For palpitations, add 15 grams of Chinese jujube seeds, 20 grams of Polygonum multiflorum, 10 grams of jujube, and 9 grams of Schisandra chinensis to nourish the heart and calm the mind.

4. Liver depression and qi stagnation type:

Main symptoms: Menstrual cycle disorder, or early arrival, or late arrival, or irregular order, more or less menstrual flow, menstrual flow is not smooth, menstrual color is purple-red, with blood clots, chest, flank, breast, lower abdomen distension and pain, abdominal distension and discomfort, occasional sighing, warm feeling and less appetite, pale red tongue, thin white fur, and wiry pulse.

Treatment method: Soothe the liver, regulate qi and regulate menstruation.

Prescription: Xiaoyao Powder with modifications. 12 grams of Bupleurum, 15 grams of White Peony Root, 12 grams of Angelica Sinensis, 15 grams of Poria, 9 grams of Atractylodes Macrocephala, 12 grams of Cyperus Root, 12 grams of Curcuma, 6 grams of Aucklandia Sinensis (added later), and 6 grams of Roasted Licorice. 5. Blood cold type:

Main symptoms: delayed menstrual cycle, scanty, dark-colored menstruation with blood clots, cold pain in the lower abdomen, pain relieved by warmth, chills and cold limbs. The tongue is pale and dark, the tongue coating is white, and the pulse is deep and slow.

Treatment method: Warming the meridians, dispelling cold and regulating menstruation.
