The scarring around the wound is black

The scarring around the wound is black

If you accidentally get injured in life and observe carefully when the wound is forming a scar, you will find some strange little phenomena. One of them is that the surrounding skin will turn black after the scar is formed. The skin around the blood scab around the wound will be several degrees darker than other parts of the skin, and some are even purple-black. In fact, this is pigmentation, which is a normal phenomenon after scarring.

After an injury, local congestion, capillary dilation and redness will appear around the wound. After the wound heals, the congested area will gradually darken and turn black. During the wound repair process, there will be some pigmentation around the wound. In this case, there are just some desquamated and necrotic epithelial cells. Generally, this will fade away with time and there is no problem. Most of the time it is due to the necrotic cells in the wound not being cleaned up. These black colors will actually disappear slowly over time, but impatient people will always apply some melatonin ointment.

This type of spots and pigmentation will disappear naturally over time, so they are generally temporary false scars, not real scars. Of course, it takes a certain amount of time for the erythema and melanin deposits to disappear. Otherwise, if the blood vessels that should contract do not contract, the redness will not subside; and if the pigments that should be transported away by the cells are not transported away, the melanin will not disappear.

However, you still need to pay attention to the hygiene of the affected area, avoid squeezing and friction, disinfect and apply medicine on time, and wait for the scab to fall off on its own. Do not peel it off forcibly to avoid affecting healing.

To put it simply, the darkening of the skin around the scar is caused by pigmentation due to the necrotic epithelial cells that have not yet fallen off. This is a normal phenomenon. In this case, we do not need any special treatment. After the scab falls off, apply aloe vera gel on the wound to promote local skin repair.
