Why do I always have headache on the right side?

From the clinical point of view, the constant occurrence of right-sided headache is a manifestation of migraine. The cause is directly related to genetic factors, endocrine factors, dietary factors, emotional tension, mental trauma, etc. Experts say that methods such as applying ice packs, lying down to rest, massaging the head, drinking green tea, and wrapping a towel around the head are effective in treating migraines, and patients can try them themselves at home.

1. Why do I always have headache on the right side?

(1) Genetic factors. Since about 60% of patients can be asked about their family history, and some patients have epilepsy in their families, experts believe that the disease is related to genetics, but there is no consistent genetic form.

(2) Endocrine factors: Vascular migraine is more common in adolescent women. It occurs frequently during menstruation, stops during pregnancy, recurs after delivery, and gradually decreases or disappears after menopause.

(3) Dietary factors: People who often eat cheese, chocolate, spicy food, or smoke or drink are prone to vascular migraine.

(4) Other factors, such as emotional stress, mental trauma, worry, anxiety, hunger, insomnia, poor external environment and climate change can also trigger migraines.

2. Effective ways to relieve migraine

1. Ice pack

Take an appropriate amount of ice cubes, wrap them in a towel, and apply them to the area where you have a headache. You can also use an ice pack directly. Once the blood vessels in the cooled head constrict, the pain symptoms will naturally ease.

2. Lie down and rest

If you have a headache, it is better to relax yourself and rest in a dimly lit, quiet room. Generally speaking, the migraine will be relieved after resting for about half an hour.

3. Massage your head

Massage is an excellent way to relieve migraine headaches. Use the tips of your fingers to press the temples. Remember to use moderate force. You can slowly and gently rotate back and forth from the temples to the hairline to massage.

4. Drink green tea

The ingredients in green tea have the effect of relieving migraines. Drinking green tea in moderation can not only effectively relieve severe migraines, but also have a preventive effect.

5. Wrap a towel around your head

This method of treating migraine is simple and practical. When a headache occurs, use a towel or soft cloth strip to wrap around your temple with appropriate tightness. This can inhibit blood vessel dilation and relieve pain.
