Being pregnant is a hard thing. You need to pay attention to your body and do conditioning work all the time, but being pregnant is also a happy thing. Nowadays, many people suffer from infertility due to physical constitution or genetic factors, and it is difficult for them to get pregnant naturally. Fortunately, medicine has advanced and artificial insemination through the fallopian tube can help with conception. In addition to tubal insemination, what other methods of artificial insemination are there? Artificial insemination can be divided into the following treatment methods: 1. Intrauterine insemination (IUI) IUI is currently the most commonly used method of artificial insemination. It is the process of injecting processed sperm into the female uterine cavity. It can be performed during the natural menstrual cycle or the cycle of using small doses of ovulation-inducing drugs. It has the highest success rate among the four methods and has good effects on the treatment of male infertility factors, female cervical factors, immune factors and unexplained infertility. Sperm separation is required during the IUI process, otherwise there will be potential risks such as bleeding and infection. 2. Intravaginal insemination (IVI) IVI involves injecting semen into the female vagina using a syringe connected to a plastic tube. Generally, it is performed 1 to 3 times within one menstrual cycle, 12 hours, 24 hours before ovulation, or 24 hours after ovulation. If the first month is unsuccessful, you can repeat it the next month. IVI is closer to the natural reproduction process. Sperm is screened layer by layer to achieve the effect of survival of the fittest, avoiding potential dangers such as bleeding and infection caused by other types of artificial insemination. Once pregnant, theoretically the miscarriage and deformity rates are lower than other methods. However, the success rate is not high, but because it is easy to operate, it is suitable for home use. 3. Intracervical insemination (ICI) ICI involves injecting semen directly into the endocervix. The surgical procedure is to expose the cervix with a vaginal speculum, and use a special needle or silicone tube to inject 0.2~0.3ml of semen into the cervix so that the semen soaks the internal cervical opening. ICI is cheaper than IUI, but has a greater risk of infection and trauma, and its success rate is full of uncertainty, so it is rarely performed. 4. Intrauterine Insemination (ITI) That is, after ovulation is detected by B-ultrasound, semen is injected into the fallopian tube for fertilization. ITI is suitable for cases where one side of the fallopian tube is normal but the other side has functional lesions, ovarian hyporesponsiveness to stimulation, cervical abnormalities, endometriosis, male factor infertility, unexplained infertility, etc. Artificial insemination can be divided into three types according to the source of semen used for insemination: Artificial insemination with husband's sperm (AIH) is artificial insemination using the husband's semen. Artificial insemination with donor sperm (AID): artificial insemination using semen provided by other men, but the sperm donor must be of good intelligence, good health, and have good semen quality. There is also mixed sperm artificial insemination: the sperm donor's semen and the husband's semen are mixed for artificial insemination. Infertile couples who request to use this method have a lucky mentality (especially those with oligospermia), thinking that their own sperm may be successful in artificial insemination. In fact, this method may reduce the quality of the sperm donor's semen. Therefore, this method is rarely recommended now. |
