How to remove spider veins

How to remove spider veins

Spider nevi are a type of capillary dilation that often appears on the face, neck, chest, etc. It is caused by increased estrogen levels. Chronic liver inflammation can trigger the formation of spider nevi. In addition, adolescent girls and pregnant women may develop this mole. For the latter, laser surgery can be used for complete treatment. If the spider nevus is large in area, the chance of recurrence after surgery may be slightly higher. Generally, it can be completely eliminated after multiple laser treatments.

1. Treatment of spider angiomas

1. Laser treatment

The photothermal reaction produced by the tissue absorbing high-energy laser causes the local temperature to suddenly rise to hundreds of degrees or higher within a few seconds, causing the tissue to undergo coagulative necrosis or even carbonization or vaporization. At the same time, due to the rapid heating, the tissue suddenly loses water drastically. After focusing, it can be used to cut or burn diseased tissue. The disease can be cured by destroying the central blood vessels using high-frequency electrocautery, diathermy, or carbon dioxide laser, YAG laser, or microwave therapy.

2. Surgery

For patients who still relapse after multiple treatments, local excision can be performed. Generally speaking, healthy young women also develop spider nevi, and no treatment is needed. It is just a phase and will disappear over time. Some patients with active liver disease have signs of spider nevi, but if they are stable, no treatment is necessary. If it develops, laser surgery can be used and good care can be taken to minimize the risk of scarring. However, if the spider nevus is relatively large, it means that the dilated blood vessels are relatively thick, and the chance of recurrence may be higher. If it fails once, you can try again. Generally, it can be completely eliminated after multiple times.

2. Diet for spider nevus

Try to diversify your diet, eat more high-protein, vitamin-rich, low-animal fat, easily digestible foods and fresh fruits and vegetables, avoid spicy and irritating foods, such as chili, coffee, pepper, ginger, garlic, onion, etc., avoid smoking and drinking, avoid high-salt and high-fat foods, avoid drinking strong tea, and avoid foods rich in estrogen, such as honey, royal jelly and the like.

3. Prevention of spider nevus

Pregnant women should be careful to avoid possible environmental or drug stimulation. At the same time, you must ensure a balanced diet, eat more foods that are high in protein, rich in vitamins, and easy to digest, eat more fruits and vegetables, and try to avoid eating spicy and irritating foods, especially peppers, strong tea, etc. Pay attention to getting more rest, develop the habit of going to bed early and getting up early, do not stay up late, do not smoke or drink, etc., which can effectively prevent the appearance of spider nevi. Because spider nevi are mainly caused by liver disease, staying up late, drinking and smoking can cause great damage to the liver. In order to better avoid the appearance of spider nevi, you must wash your hands frequently before and after defecation, develop good hygiene habits, and avoid using drugs that damage liver function.
