Scrotal eczema medicine

Scrotal eczema medicine

Scrotal eczema is a common disease that can cause damage to the patient's scrotum and even cause scrotal lesions and skin damage. Therefore, it is necessary for everyone to understand the harmfulness of scrotal eczema and to use appropriate methods for treatment. Only in this way can we ensure that scrotal eczema is avoided, which will add burden to our body.

Scrotal eczema treatment method

Traditional Chinese medicine mainly treats diseases based on syndrome differentiation and treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine often divides scrotal eczema into two types: damp-heat invasion syndrome and yin deficiency and blood dryness syndrome for treatment. The syndrome of damp-heat descending is equivalent to acute scrotal eczema, and the syndrome of yin deficiency and blood dryness is equivalent to chronic scrotal eczema.

(1) The syndrome of damp-heat descending into the scrotum can be seen with millet-sized papules and small blisters on the scrotum. The skin feels burning and after scratching, there is a lot of exudate, erosion and scabs, which often soak the underwear. The tongue is red, the tongue coating is yellow and greasy, and the pulse is stringy and slippery. This is due to the dampness and heat evil flowing down the meridians to the genitals. Treatment should focus on clearing away heat and removing dampness. The commonly used prescription is Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications, which includes: Gentiana 10g, Scutellaria 10g, Bupleurum 10g, Red Peony 10g, Gardenia 10g, Sophora flavescens 10g, Alisma orientalis 10g, Akebia 10g, Kochia scoparia 20g, and Raw Licorice 6g. Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day.

(2) Yin deficiency and blood dryness syndrome can be seen in the scrotal skin wrinkles becoming coarser and deeper, bleeding after scratching, and severe itching at night. The tongue is red, with little coating, and the pulse is thin and smooth. This is because the damp-heat evil damages the yin fluid over time, causing yin deficiency and blood dryness. The treatment should be to nourish yin, nourish blood and moisten dryness. The commonly used prescription is Danggui Yinzi plus or minus: Danggui 10g, Rehmannia glutinosa 20g, White Peony 10g, Chuanxiong 10g, Scrophularia 10g, Schizonepeta 10g, Saposhnikovia 10g, Dictamni 30g, Tribulus terrestris 10g, Raw Licorice 6g. Take it in decoction, 1 dose per day.

Disease diagnosis sometimes needs to be differentiated from scrotal neurodermatitis, scrotal pruritus caused by riboflavin deficiency, and extramammary eczematoid carcinoma.

(1) Scrotal neurodermatitis can be seen as flat papules connected in patches. In severe cases, they can cover the entire scrotum. Its characteristics are that although there is itching, there is no exudation. Over time, the skin becomes thicker and has a storiform pattern.

(2) The course of scrotal itching caused by riboflavin deficiency is generally short, and there is usually no obvious skin thickening. Oral administration of riboflavin can be effective in a short period of time, and it is often accompanied by glossitis or angular cheilitis.

(3) Extramammary eczematoid carcinoma may look similar to eczema, but upon closer inspection, the lesions are red patches with clear boundaries, exudative crusts and keratinized scales on the surface. They gradually expand and may even ulcerate, requiring a histopathological examination to confirm the diagnosis.

Examination method: For the examination of scrotal eczema, a routine blood test may sometimes show an increase in eosinophils, but there is no other specific examination. When there is a concurrent infection, the total white blood cell count may increase. Complications: If acute scrotal eczema is not treated in time, it may develop into chronic scrotal eczema.
