What is bifurcated urine stream?

Careful friends may find that sometimes the urine stream is forked when urinating. However, many people do not pay much attention to this situation. In fact, people need to pay attention to this situation. The forked urine stream may be caused by malfunction of the urinary and reproductive system, or it may be caused by sexual excitement and after sexual intercourse. When faced with bifurcated urine stream, you need to actively learn about it so that you can determine whether you have the disease. Let's take a closer look at what bifurcated urine stream is.

Bifurcated urine is a common phenomenon in two aspects. The first is certain diseases of the urogenital system, such as urethritis and prostatitis. In addition to bifurcated urine, these diseases are often accompanied by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain. The causes of the disease are usually bacteria, chlamydia, mycoplasma, trichomonas, and fungi. Under the invasion of pathogenic microorganisms, the affected tissues and organs become inflamed, and the urethral mucosal exudates or prostate secretions increase. The secretions contain mucin components. When the secretions flow to the external urethral orifice, the water evaporates, and the mucin causes the external urethral orifice to adhere and close. When urinating, if the closed external urethral orifice is only partially opened under the impact of urine, it will appear as a thinner urine stream. When the closed external urethral orifice opens in a sieve-like shape, the urine stream will be bifurcated. When the external urethral orifice is fully opened, the urine stream returns to normal.

The second situation is that bifurcated urine stream sometimes occurs after sexual excitement or sexual intercourse . The former is due to sexual excitement causing congestion of the genitals and increased secretion of glands in the urethra, while the latter is the outflow of semen remaining in the urethra. The function is roughly the same as that during inflammation. If bifurcated urine is caused by inflammatory diseases, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Treatment 1. General treatment: Enhance confidence, eliminate mental worries, and control sexual desire, but forced abstinence is not advisable. Avoid alcohol and irritating foods, take a hot water sitz bath once a night, apply local physical therapy, and change obvious triggering factors in your life such as avoiding long periods of cycling. 2. Prostate massage: Regular prostate massage can promote the discharge of prostate inflammatory secretions. It should be done once a week. At the same time, routine examination of prostate fluid can also be performed to evaluate the treatment effect. 3. Drug infusion: insert a special balloon catheter through the urethra, inject sterile saline into the prostatic urethra and aspirate several times to remove purulent secretions, then inject antibiotics once a week. 4. Urethral dilation: For those with urethral stenosis or obstruction, regular urinary dilation is performed to facilitate excretion. When the bougie passes through the urethra, it can stretch the prostate opening, which is beneficial for gland drainage. 5. Periprostatic blockade: 80,000 units of gentamicin plus 1-2 ml of 1% novocaine, once a day, 7-10 times as a course of treatment, or 800,000 units of penicillin, 0.5 g of streptomycin plus 2-4 ml of 1% novocaine, 1-2 times a week. 6. Antimicrobial drugs: General antimicrobial drugs are not easy to enter the prostate tissue, which is one of the reasons why clinical treatment is more difficult. An ideal antibacterial drug must meet three conditions: ① fat-soluble alkaline drug; ② less binding to plasma proteins; ③ high degree of dissociation.
