Does pharyngitis cause nausea?

Pharyngitis is a relatively common disease in life. When pharyngitis occurs, it causes many symptoms. For example, chronic pharyngitis often causes nausea and retching, especially when brushing teeth. This symptom is most obvious. In addition to the symptoms of nausea, it often causes phlegm that cannot be coughed up, causing mucosal congestion, causing difficulty in swallowing and many other symptoms.

The main symptoms of acute pharyngitis

1. Hoarseness is the main symptom. The voice becomes deep and rough. The symptoms are more severe in the morning, and then gradually improve with increased activity and coughing up throat secretions. It gets worse again the next morning. The hoarseness is relieved after keeping silent, but it gets worse when talking more. It is intermittent and becomes persistent over time. 2. Increased throat secretions, often with a feeling of phlegm sticking to the throat. Whenever you speak, you have to cough to clear the thick phlegm. 3. Oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal mucosa are diffusely congested and swollen, the palatine arch and suspensory edema, the posterior pharyngeal wall lymph follicles and lateral pharyngeal cords are red and swollen; there are yellow-white punctate exudates on the surface, and the mandibular lymph nodes are enlarged and tender. 4. The onset is relatively acute. At the beginning, the throat is dry and burning, followed by pain. The pain worsens when swallowing and may radiate to the ears. Sometimes there are general malaise, joint pain, headache, loss of appetite, and varying degrees of fever.

5. Certain systemic diseases, such as anemia, tracheal diseases, liver and kidney diseases, etc. may also be symptoms of acute pharyngitis. 6. The throat may feel dry, itchy and burning, and may gradually become painful. The pain worsens when swallowing and the amount of saliva increases. If the lateral pharyngeal cord is affected, there will be obvious ear pain. 7. People with weak constitutions may sometimes experience systemic symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, loss of appetite, and sore limbs. Be sure to distinguish them from the common cold. This is one of the early symptoms of pharyngitis. 8. Discomfort in the throat, dryness, itching, swelling, excessive secretions and burning pain, nausea, a foreign body sensation, inability to cough up or swallow. The above symptoms will be aggravated especially after talking a lot, eating spicy food, feeling tired or when the weather changes.

Drinks for treating pharyngitis

1. Monk fruit tea: 1 monk fruit. Chop the monk fruit into pieces, brew it with boiling water for 10 minutes, and drink it at any time. Take 1 to 2 times a day, 1 piece each time. Functions: Clears the lungs, eliminates phlegm, quenches thirst and moistens the throat. It is mainly used to treat chronic pharyngitis, dry and uncomfortable throat caused by insufficient lung yin and accumulation of phlegm and heat, sore throat and loss of voice, or cough and dry mouth. 2. Olive tea: take two olives and 1g of green tea. Cut the olives with pits into two halves, put them into a cup with green tea, pour in boiling water, cover and simmer for 5 minutes before drinking. Suitable for patients with chronic pharyngitis and foreign body sensation in the throat. 3. Sea and Rehmannia Tea: 5 pieces of Sterculia lychnophora, 12g of Rehmannia, 30g of crystal sugar, and appropriate amount of tea. Put the above medicines in a thermos, brew half a bottle with boiling water, cover and simmer for about 15 minutes, and drink it frequently as a substitute for tea. Depending on the patient's drinking volume, take 2 to 3 doses per day. It has the functions of clearing the lungs and relieving sore throat, nourishing yin and promoting body fluid. It is used for patients with chronic pharyngitis due to lung yin deficiency, such as hoarseness, itchy throat or dry cough when talking too much, dark red throat, thickened vocal cords, even incomplete glottis closure, nodules on the vocal cords, red tongue with little coating, etc. It is most suitable for patients with chronic laryngitis due to insufficient lung yin, false fire and excess, and dry and hard stools.
