Do your ears sometimes buzz?

Do your ears sometimes buzz?

Many people may have encountered this phenomenon in their daily lives. Sometimes their ears will buzz. In fact, the buzzing in the ears is tinnitus. There are many reasons for tinnitus, such as fatigue, colds, lack of sleep, etc. If it is only occasional tinnitus, you can observe it first, pay more attention to rest, and develop good living habits. If it is frequent tinnitus, it is best to go to the hospital for examination.

Why are my ears buzzing?

Tinnitus is a symptom of auditory dysfunction. It is the hallucination of the human auditory organs to sounds or imaginary sounds, such as buzzing, cicadas, or sounds like bells, insects, birds, flowing water, wind, etc. Tinnitus can be continuous or intermittent.

So what causes tinnitus? Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the kidney opens up to the ear, and if the kidney is diseased, the ear may react. However, the causes of tinnitus are very complex and cannot be attributed solely to kidney deficiency. Sometimes, tinnitus can be caused by liver fire, excessive heart fire, phlegm and qi stagnation, and invasion of evil toxins. In addition, from the perspective of modern medicine, some tinnitus may be a precursor to certain diseases. For example, tinnitus after injection of streptomycin indicates that ear poisoning has occurred. Tinnitus in patients with hypertension or aggravation of existing tinnitus often indicates high blood pressure. Long-term use of quinine, salicylic acid and other drugs can also cause tinnitus. Tinnitus can also occur due to tympanic membrane retraction, opacity, adhesion, perforation, tympanic abscess, nasopharyngeal tumors, etc.

Therefore, once symptoms of tinnitus such as buzzing in the ears appear, patients should actively go to the ENT specialist of a regular medical institution for detailed examination and treatment to avoid delaying the disease.

There are many causes of tinnitus, so the treatment effect is generally not very good. However, if the buzzing tinnitus has just begun, it may get better if it is treated with medication in time. Generally, you can take some nerve nourishing drugs, such as methylcobalamin tablets, ginkgo leaves, etc.

Because "the kidney opens up to the ear", once the kidney is diseased, the ear may react. Therefore, to cure the buzzing tinnitus, you can treat it by tonifying the kidneys. Taking some kidney-tonifying drugs or Chinese medicine can alleviate the condition.

In addition, to change the phenomenon of tinnitus, you must pay attention to daily health care while taking medication. First of all, we must have an optimistic and open-minded attitude towards life. If you have tinnitus, don't be overly nervous and seek medical treatment in time. Secondly, during the diagnosis and treatment process, you should follow the doctor's instructions, actively cooperate with the treatment, and actively use other advantages (such as hobbies and love of your job) to distract yourself from tinnitus, adjust your life rhythm, and cultivate more interests. In addition, you should avoid staying in a loud noise environment for a long time or being exposed to excessive noise, avoid or use ototoxic drugs with caution, smoke and drink less, have a regular lifestyle, and not sleep too long (7-8 hours for young and middle-aged people, 6 hours of sleep for the elderly).

Since tinnitus develops slowly and the course of the disease is not short-term, treatment generally takes a long time. For example, tinnitus masking therapy and relaxation therapy must complete at least a one-month course of treatment before the treatment effect can be evaluated. Therefore, patients should be persistent in cooperating with the treatment and not give up easily.
