Lateral incisor protrusion

Lateral incisor protrusion

Many people actually have crooked teeth. When faced with crooked teeth, many people actually choose to have their teeth straightened. But for cases where the lateral incisors are protruding, is it also suitable for orthodontic treatment? In fact, the protruding lateral incisors are mainly because they are larger than other teeth. If you want to improve your appearance, you can go to a regular hospital for orthodontic treatment.

There are three groups of golden ratios of teeth

①1:0.618———Ratio of the width of the upper and lower incisors

②1:0.78———The length and width of the central incisor (front tooth) are in a good ratio. The suitable range is 1:0.66 to 1:0.8.

③1:0.7——When viewed from the front, the ratio of the central incisor to the lateral incisor (the tooth next to the front teeth) is equal to the ratio of the lateral incisor to the canine (the tooth next to the lateral incisor). The suitable range is 1:0.66 to 1:0.78.

The main reasons for protruding incisors are heredity, mouth breathing, bad habits and other factors. Therefore, this situation cannot be ignored. We should pay attention to taking some targeted measures according to the specific situation, so as to better help treat the protruding incisors.

Protruding incisors not only affect the beauty of the teeth, but also the harmony of the face. Protruding incisors can also affect the normal occlusion of the teeth, affect the chewing function, cause poor digestion and absorption, and cause damage to physical health. In addition, protruding incisors are often difficult to clean and will often suffer from oral diseases.

Generally speaking, orthodontic treatment can be used to treat protruding incisors. You need to wear braces, which will help your teeth become neat and beautiful. Alternatively, you can undergo corrective surgery, which is fast, effective, and very safe. Currently, the surgical method is Korean surgical orthodontics.

Division of work of teeth

The teeth process food in a cooperative manner. According to their different division of labor, they are generally divided into the following three groups:

1. Incisor group: Incisors use their cutting edges to cut food into pieces with the coordinated action of the masticatory muscles. There are 4 central incisors, and adjacent to the central incisors are 4 lateral incisors. The central incisor and lateral incisor together form the incisor group.

2. Canine group: Canines can tear food apart because they are thick and have long roots. They are buried deep in the jawbone and can withstand greater force. Canine teeth are commonly known as canine teeth. There are 4 canines, which form the canine group.

3. Molar group: Food bitten off by the incisors or torn off by the canines is transported by the tongue to the large molars for grinding. The occlusal surface of the molars is composed of many grooves and ridges, just like a millstone, which helps to grind food and facilitate digestion and absorption by the gastrointestinal tract. Both premolars and molars have the function of grinding food, so premolars and molars are collectively referred to as the molar group. There are 8 premolars and 8 or 12 molars.

The deciduous teeth have 8 teeth in the incisor group, 4 teeth in the canine group, and 8 teeth in the molar group. Each set of deciduous teeth has the same function as each set of permanent teeth.

The permanent teeth of the deciduous teeth can also be divided into the front teeth group and the back teeth group. The anterior teeth group includes teeth 1 to 3, a total of 12 teeth. Teeth 4 to 8 are called the posterior teeth.
