Haven’t eaten but your stomach is bloated?

Many people may have had this experience: they feel their stomach is bloated even though they have not eaten anything. In fact, this phenomenon is mostly caused by indigestion. At this time, it is best not to eat spicy, greasy, or cold foods. Eat more warm or light foods, develop good living habits, and get enough sleep.

There are many reasons for indigestion. Some people suffer from bad living habits, such as smoking, drinking, and drinking strong tea; some people suffer from indigestion due to nervous system and endocrine disorders caused by mental stress; some are due to drug factors, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that will irritate the gastrointestinal tract. Some diseases can also cause indigestion, such as Helicobacter pylori.

Six groups of people are at high risk of indigestion!

1. People who often skip breakfast:

Some office workers would rather sleep a few more minutes than get up to eat breakfast, thinking that it is enough to eat more at noon. In fact, this is a wrong idea. After a night's sleep, the food in the stomach and intestines has been completely digested and urgently needs to be replenished. If you skip breakfast, your gastrointestinal tract will be overburdened, damaging the gastrointestinal mucosa, leading to gastric ulcers, gastritis, indigestion, and even inducing gallstones. Therefore, you should not only eat breakfast, but also eat well.

2. People who often eat too much:

The direct harm of overeating is that it increases the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, leading to digestive system disorders. Gastrointestinal dysfunction can lead to gastrointestinal diseases, gastritis, gastric ulcer, enteritis, constipation, colorectal cancer, etc. Therefore, the folk saying of eating “70% full” makes sense.

3. People who like spicy food:

Although spicy food can bring people a stimulating taste experience, it can also irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa and aggravate stomach problems. Peppers are hot in nature. If the patient has symptoms such as fever, constipation, dry mouth and throat, sore throat, etc., eating spicy food will inevitably aggravate the condition.

4. People who sleep right after eating and take a bath immediately after meals:

It takes time for the human body to digest the food it eats and convert it into various nutrients that can be absorbed by the body. If you go to bed right after eating or take a shower immediately after eating for a long time, it will increase the burden on the stomach, causing digestive dysfunction and gastroesophageal reflux.

5. People who exercise after meals:

Some people exercise right after eating in order to save time or lose weight. In fact, this is more likely to affect digestion and cause gastroptosis.

6. Children and the elderly:

Children and the elderly are at high risk of indigestion. Children often don't know whether they are full, and the elderly have weakened gastrointestinal motility and reduced secretion of digestive juices, which can lead to indigestion.
