How to eliminate bloating caused by drinking water?

Abdominal bloating after drinking water is a symptom that many people have experienced. Most of the causes of this phenomenon are caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction. Abdominal bloating is not only uncomfortable, but may also affect the health of the body. If you want to relieve abdominal bloating after drinking water, it is best to massage your abdomen more after drinking water, or go out for a walk, and develop good living habits and eating habits. If the symptoms cannot be relieved, it is best to see a doctor and take medication under the doctor's guidance.

1. Why does abdominal bloating occur?

1. In fact, our intestines produce about 7 to 10 liters of gas every day. Most of this gas is reabsorbed, and a small part is discharged through burping or farting. If improper diet causes excessive swallowing of air, excessive intestinal gas production, or blocked exhaust passages, it will cause bloating.

2. If we talk while eating or eat too fast, we will swallow too much gas. Some foods themselves are prone to cause bloating, such as sweet potatoes, beans, dairy products, potatoes, carbonated drinks, etc., which may cause bloating.

3. Excessive stomach acid and certain gastrointestinal diseases can also cause bloating.

2. How to eliminate abdominal distension

1. Abdominal massage: If you have bloating, you can apply hot compress or apply essential oil to your abdomen. Then rub your palms to warm them up, massage clockwise for 2 minutes, then counterclockwise for 2 minutes, and repeat 2 to 3 cycles. This can help intestinal movement, promote gas discharge, and relieve bloating.

2. Drink water: Drink more water when you have bloating. Drinking more water can help promote intestinal digestion and bowel movements, thereby achieving the effect of expelling gas and relieving abdominal bloating and discomfort. In addition, you should drink more water in normal times, and ensure that the daily water intake can reach about 2000 ml to meet the body's needs and prevent bloating.

3. Drugs:

(1) Flatulence caused by excessive gastric acid (mainly accompanied by symptoms such as hiccups and heartburn) can be controlled by taking over-the-counter drugs such as Staxor and Mepiride after consulting a pharmacist.

(2) If the bloating is severe due to obstruction of the exhaust passage, such as constipation, you can use laxatives such as enema under the guidance of a doctor. Generally, once the constipation is eliminated, the bloating will also disappear. For mild cases, you can make tea with cassia seeds and honeysuckle.

(3) Indigestion caused by overeating can be treated with stomach-strengthening and digestion-promoting tablets as prescribed by your doctor to relieve bloating.

(4) Certain gastrointestinal diseases require symptomatic treatment after the cause is identified.

4. Diet

(1) When you have bloating, try to avoid eating gas-producing foods, especially soda, beer, coffee, fried foods, chocolate, beans, and sweet potatoes.

(2) Eat more foods that promote gas discharge, such as radish, hawthorn, kumquat, celery, winter melon, etc.

5. Exercise: If you have bloating, do not lie down or sit, as this will only cause gas to accumulate and it will not be effectively discharged from the body. You may choose to do more low-intensity exercises, such as walking, mopping the floor and other housework, which are beneficial to digestion and relieve stomach bloating and discomfort.

6. Seek medical treatment: If the above methods still cannot help relieve the bloating, and it lasts for more than 5 days, and is accompanied by abdominal pain, bloody stools, etc., you should go to the gastroenterology department of the hospital for consultation and timely investigation to avoid aggravating and delaying the condition; and if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as hiccups, vomiting, it is recommended to go to the gastroenterology department to check whether there is any organic lesion. Now you know how to get rid of bloating.
