How to regulate spleen and qi deficiency: diet and massage

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the spleen and stomach are the foundation of acquired constitution. Spleen deficiency and qi deficiency often lead to problems in people's digestive system, affecting people's digestion and absorption. Spleen deficiency and qi deficiency are often caused by people's lack of dietary restraint and irregular daily life. In the field of traditional Chinese medicine, spleen deficiency and qi deficiency can be regulated through diet and massage.

1. Spleen deficiency and Qi deficiency

1: Spleen deficiency is mostly caused by improper diet, excessive fatigue, and long-term illness that damages the spleen. Doctors of all dynasties have conducted in-depth research and development on spleen deficiency syndrome, pointing out that the spleen is responsible for transportation and transformation, is the source of Qi and blood production, and is the foundation of acquired constitution.

2: If one is born with inadequate endowment, or has a weak spleen and stomach; or fails to take care of oneself after birth, or has an irregular diet, irregular hunger and satiety, or is overworked, worried for a long time, which damages the spleen and stomach; or is old and frail, or has a serious illness, and has not recovered after a long illness, and fails to take care of oneself, all of these can lead to spleen deficiency and dysfunction of the transportation and transformation functions, resulting in a lack of qi and blood production, and the formation of spleen deficiency syndrome.

2: Precautions for treating weak spleen

1: 1. Maintain good work and rest habits and try to avoid staying up late. 2. Eat less spicy or irritating food. 3. Actively participate in outdoor sports to relax. 4. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself and learn to relieve stress reasonably.

Three: Massage and conditioning

1: Massaging the abdomen helps regulate the spleen and stomach and enhance digestion. If you have dry stools, you can rub your stomach in a clockwise direction. If you have loose stools, you can rub your stomach in a counterclockwise direction. You should also pay attention to adjusting your emotions, keep a regular schedule, and develop the habit of taking naps, which can replenish qi and nourish blood.

4. Diet adjustment

1: Diet has the most important impact on the spleen and stomach. Three meals a day should be eaten regularly, and special attention should be paid to eating breakfast. Porridge is the best breakfast for nourishing the spleen. It can be made mainly of millet, and can be added with spleen-strengthening foods such as dates and yam. If you have deficiency of qi and blood, add black sesame and peanuts; if you have heavy moisture, add coix seed; if you have trouble sleeping, add sorghum rice.

2: Avoid eating "fat and sweet" foods. Foods that are too sweet, greasy, or salty are not good for the spleen's function. It is best to eat more light, easily digestible and varied foods. Eat until you are 70% full at each meal and don't overeat. Eat less cold food and try to eat less cold food, such as bitter melon.

Five: People with weak tempers should not

Some foods that can damage the spleen, such as coriander, radish, etc., should also be exercised more in daily life to strengthen the physical fitness, so as to better improve the symptoms of spleen deficiency.
