Fungal skin diseases are relatively common in our daily life. They are mainly caused by fungal infections, which often lead to all infectious diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. The most common one is tinea pedis, which is what we usually call athlete's foot. In addition, tinea capitis and tinea cruris are relatively common fungal skin diseases. If you have a fungal skin disease, you must seek timely treatment to avoid causing greater harm. What is fungal skin disease? Clinically, it presents as blister-scaly type manifestations. The damage is mostly limited to one side. Small blisters appear initially, and then the blister fluid dries up and then the skin peels off. The area of the skin continues to expand. Over time, the skin at the desquamated area becomes rough and thickened, the skin lines widen, and it loses its normal luster. It feels rough and sandy to the touch. Common fungal skin diseases include tinea capitis, tinea manuum, tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea versicolor, etc. 1. Tinea capitis Tinea capitis is an infection of the scalp, hair and hair follicles caused by dermatophytes. It can be divided into yellow ringworm, white ringworm and black spot ringworm. Pityriasis versicolor is commonly known as "bald sores" and "bald head". The skin lesions are characterized by disc-shaped pityriasis scabs with a rat-like odor, which can easily lead to permanent hair loss. The skin lesions of ringworm are round or irregular grayish white scaly patches. The roots of the lesions are surrounded by white fungal sheaths and are easy to break. Black dot ringworm can be seen as inflammatory and scaly patches on the scalp, which are slightly itchy; some patients may have focal permanent hair loss. 2. Tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis Tinea pedis and tinea manuum are characterized by desquamation, itching, erosion of the skin between the fingers (toes) and the palms (plantars), and local redness, swelling, and pain caused by secondary bacterial infection. Tinea cruris is usually caused by infection from tinea pedis or tinea manuum. The lesions are mostly irregular or arc-shaped, with lichenoid changes or acute and subacute eczematous changes, and are prone to bacterial infection. Patients feel severe itching. The rash of tinea corporis begins as erythema or papules, then spreads outward to form a ring. Sometimes new rashes develop that continue to spread outward to form concentric rings, causing itching and may be complicated by bacterial infection. 3. Other fungal skin diseases have other manifestations besides the above. For example, fungal skin diseases occurring on the nails are commonly known as "onychomycosis", which manifests as abnormal color and shape of the nails. The eczematous dermatitis rash is characterized by the occurrence of scattered or clustered deep blisters on the palms and fingertips on both sides. The blister walls are not easy to break, and the patient feels extremely itchy. Excessive sweating in summer. Tinea versicolor caused by Tinea versicolor is also known as "sweat spots". The skin lesions are macules with trace amounts of bran-like scales on the surface. However, some scholars believe that tinea versicolor does not belong to the category of fungi. |
