Causes of dry hair and hair loss

Dry hair and hair loss are quite common in our daily life and there are many causes. There are some causes related to diseases, too much psychological stress, or bad habits. For example, poor diet is an important cause of hair loss and dry hair. For women, improper hair care and frequent hair dyeing and perming can easily lead to dry hair and cause hair loss.

Causes of dry hair and hair loss

1. Many women often tie their hair too tightly.

Nowadays, many women like to tie their hair into ponytails. However, if the hair is tied too tightly, it will damage the hair follicles and affect hair growth. Long-term excessive pulling of the hair can also cause traction alopecia. Hair loss is related to the hairstyle. For example, when tying hair into a ponytail, the main areas of hair loss are above the forehead and on the temples.

2. Many women like to perm and dye their hair frequently.

Frequent hair dyeing or perming, especially the frequent use of low-quality hair dyes or perming solutions, will greatly increase the damage to the hair keratin, causing damage to the hair, leaving the internal structure of the hair in a state of no care, and the loss of internal moisture and nutrients, making the hair become dry, brittle, split, and fall out.

3. Weather reasons.

In dry weather, the skin loses a lot of water, causing the sebaceous glands of the scalp to secrete less and the hair follicles to shrink, making the hair prone to drying out and falling out. For some patients who suffer from seborrheic alopecia, alopecia areata, and alopecia totalis, hair loss will be more obvious.

4. The reason is too much pressure.

If people are under stress for a long time, it will cause psychological hair loss. At this time, the body's arrector pili muscles contract, the hair stands upright, and the muscle layer of the scalp tissue contracts, causing congestion and poor blood flow. The capillaries that supply nutrients to the hair follicles contract, causing local blood flow obstruction, thereby causing the hair to lack nutrients. Too much stress can also lead to excessive sweating, excessive secretion of sebaceous glands, the formation of dandruff, which reduces the quality of the hair's living environment and causes hair loss.

5. Reasons for excessive weight loss .

Hair is mainly composed of protein and trace elements such as copper, iron and zinc. If you diet excessively to lose weight, you will not take in enough nutrients such as protein, vitamins and minerals, which will cause malnutrition in the body and abnormal metabolism, thus causing hair loss.
