What are the effects and functions of Xiebai?

In fact, many traditional Chinese medicines are closely related to our lives. Many common plants and flowers in life can not only be eaten directly, but also used as medicine and have high medicinal value. As long as everyone can understand these common sense issues clearly and apply them correctly in their lives, they can continuously improve their health. So what are the effects and functions of Xiebai?

Xiebai is the dried bulb of Allium macrostemon, a perennial herb of the Liliaceae family. Dig up in summer and autumn, wash, remove the seedlings, steam thoroughly or blanch in boiling water, and dry.

Xiebai enters the lung, heart, stomach, and large intestine meridians. It has the effects of warming the middle and strengthening the stomach, promoting yang and dispersing stagnation, regulating qi and relieving chest tightness, and digesting food and relieving stagnation. It can treat chest pain, chest tightness, angina pectoris, stabbing pain in the ribs, indigestion, abdominal distension and pain, diarrhea or dysentery, unsmooth diarrhea, and cough. Xiebai is bitter and warming, so it cannot be used if you cannot tolerate the taste of garlic. Xiebai is non-toxic, pungent and slightly warm, and is used to treat diarrhea, dysentery, and heaviness in the lower body caused by qi stagnation. For wheezing, coughing, spitting and nausea, Tongyang Sanjie is suitable for treating chest pain.

Xiebai's proven recipe for treating diseases:

1. Wheezing, coughing and spitting: one fruit of Trichosanthes kirilowii (12g), half a liter of Allium macrostemon (12g), seven liters of white wine (appropriate amount, usually 60ml of rice wine). It can cure chest pain, with symptoms including fullness and pain in the chest, even pain extending to the back, wheezing, coughing and spitting, shortness of breath, white and greasy tongue coating, and deep, stringy or tight pulse.

2. Cough and asthma: Put 20 to 30g of Allium macrostemon into 250ml of water and boil it until 100ml, then take orally. This prescription has obvious therapeutic effect on bronchial asthma.

3. Choking and nausea: 100g fresh Allium macrostemon and appropriate amount of brown sugar water. Mash the fresh Xiebai into juice, put the juice into a bowl and drink it with brown sugar water, twice a day. Usually the medicine will be effective after 2 to 3 days.
