What to do if the B-ultrasound is normal and the progesterone level is low

The B-ultrasound shows that the condition is relatively normal, but the progesterone level of pregnant women is still relatively low. There are many reasons for this situation. This may be caused by luteal insufficiency. At this time, on the one hand, you should actively conduct prenatal examinations, and on the other hand, you should strengthen dietary supplements. You should eat more foods rich in soy isoflavones and foods rich in natural vitamin E. This can produce more progesterone. You can also eat foods containing pectin or dietary fiber, such as strawberries, hawthorns, etc.

What to do if the B-ultrasound is normal and the progesterone level is low

As the saying goes, "Food supplements are worse than medicine supplements." The energy of food ingredients is often beyond people's imagination, and some food ingredients have greater nutritional value and effects than medicines. Therefore, diet therapy is very popular among the crowd nowadays. For female friends with low progesterone, the effect of diet therapy is also very significant, but do you know how to supplement low progesterone?

1. It contains relatively rich soy isoflavones and natural vitamin E, which can help women's bodies produce more progesterone.

2. Eating some peaches, grapefruits, hawthorns, strawberries, kiwis, pears, etc., which are rich in pectin and dietary fiber, will not cause large fluctuations in blood sugar. Because fruits have many advantages, as evidenced by the following examples: their bright color and delicious taste can stimulate appetite; they are rich in vitamin C, which can aid digestion, prevent arteriosclerosis, and delay aging; their sugar content is lower than that of staple foods, their volume is large, and they are easy to produce a feeling of fullness; the pectin and dietary fiber they contain can delay the absorption of glucose.

What's wrong with low progesterone and normal ultrasound?

Theoretically, progesterone is needed for the egg and sperm to combine to form an embryo because it helps stimulate changes in the uterus during the reproductive process and can increase blood flow to the blood vessels and tissues of the reproductive system, which then promotes embryonic development. If the progesterone level drops significantly in the early stages of pregnancy, it may easily cause the embryo that has not implanted stably in the uterus to stop developing. In the case of abnormal embryos (embryos with Down syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities), the embryo will secrete insufficient hormones and progesterone will be very low. Luteal insufficiency may be a cause of miscarriage, but there are no good indicators to diagnose luteal insufficiency. A single blood progesterone measurement is not sufficient to represent the level throughout the pregnancy, and the blood level may not be equal to the local uterine level. Moreover, the progesterone secreted by the human body is metabolized very quickly. If the blood is not checked in time after being drawn, the test results will be inaccurate. Therefore, the combined examination of progesterone and HCG is used clinically. If only the progesterone level is low and the HCG level is normal, it is probably an examination error and the patient should be rechecked or the HCG result should be taken as the main result. Therefore, in the absence of vaginal bleeding and normal HCG, low progesterone will not necessarily lead to fetal arrest or miscarriage. But if you have a miscarriage, progesterone will definitely be low because the body no longer needs hormone secretion to support embryo development.
