What to eat for children with eczema

Eczema is one of the common skin diseases. The peak season is summer, and the disease occurs in all age groups, with more cases among children and the elderly. Children's eczema is also known as milk rash. If they recover well, they will not carry over into adulthood. In addition to drug treatment when eczema occurs, special attention should be paid to eating habits. Spicy food is definitely not allowed to be eaten, and some irritating foods such as chicken, coriander, leeks, etc. are also not allowed to be eaten. So what should children with eczema eat?

The causes of eczema are complex and are related to constitution, neuropsychiatric state, endocrine system, blood circulation, digestive system, metabolic nutrition, changes in visceral function, and various internal and external allergic pathogens. Skin lesions can occur anywhere on the body, mostly on the calves, elbows, chest, scrotum, vulva, umbilicus, around the nipples, head and face, etc. The disease is often caused or aggravated by various external stimuli (seafood, drugs, chronic diseases, pollen). Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by rheumatic heat invading the skin. Acute and subacute diseases are mainly characterized by damp heat, while chronic diseases are caused by long-term illness and blood consumption.

Diet therapy:

1. Patients with eczema should choose foods that clear away heat and dampness. Such as mung beans, red beans, amaranth, shepherd's purse, purslane, winter melon, cucumber, lettuce, etc., eat less fish, shrimp, beef, mutton and spicy food.

2. Patients with eczema should eat more foods rich in vitamins and minerals. Such as sauerkraut juice, carrot juice, fresh fruit juice, tomato juice, vegetable puree, fruit puree, etc., to regulate the baby's physiological functions and reduce skin allergic reactions.

3. In order to maintain normal digestion and absorption ability, the diet of patients with eczema should be light, with less salt and sugar, so as to avoid excessive accumulation of water and sodium in the body, aggravating the exudation, pain and itching of the rash, and causing skin erosion.

4. After becoming ill, patients with eczema should avoid eating chili peppers, bamboo shoots, shrimps, crabs, glutinous rice, eggplant, meat, onions, garlic, pepper, mushrooms, broad beans, curry, coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, cocoa, and seafood. Eat less meat.

Vegetables that prevent eczema

1. Bitter melon: Bitter melon contains quinine, which has the functions of clearing away heat, detoxifying, removing dampness and relieving itching. It can be used to treat heat toxins, furuncles, prickly heat, eczema and other diseases.

2. Tomatoes: Tomatoes are rich in vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin C, niacin, and vitamin E; they also contain malic acid, citric acid, calcium, phosphorus, iron and tomato alkaloids. It has the effects of promoting fluid production and relieving cough, strengthening the stomach and digestion, cooling blood and calming the liver, and clearing away heat. The fruit acid in tomatoes has a protective effect on vitamin C, so it can effectively supplement vitamin C; tomatine has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and reduces vascular permeability, so the external use of tomato juice to treat eczema can have an antipruritic and astringent effect.
