Nutritional composition of milk

Milk is one of the most common foods in modern life. It is available in thousands of households because it is rich in nutrients such as protein and vitamins, including all the amino acids needed for human growth and development, and has a digestibility that is unmatched by other foods. The benefits of drinking milk are now becoming more and more recognized by the public. Drinking a glass of milk before bed can promote sleep. Drinking milk regularly can also beautify the skin and promote the brain development of young children.

(1) Cow's milk is rich in protein, about three times higher than human milk protein, and its digestion and absorption rate is as high as 87%/89%. Its biological value is slightly lower than human milk, but its essential amino acid content and composition ratio are similar to those of eggs, and its utilization rate is high. One thing that needs to be noted is that when feeding a baby with milk instead of breast milk, the milk must be diluted by more than half to prevent indigestion and adverse effects of excessive protein on the baby.

(2) The second is lipids. The lipid content of cow's milk is similar to that of breast milk, but the essential fat content is not higher than that of human milk. Moreover, the fat in human milk is mainly long-chain fat, while the carbon chain of fatty acids in cow's milk is shorter, which causes greater irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.

(3) Next is carbohydrates, or sugars. The carbohydrates contained in milk are all lactose. Lactose is good for the human intestinal health.

(4) Next, let’s talk about minerals. Milk contains almost all the minerals that babies need, especially calcium and phosphorus, and is the best food source of calcium for the human body.

(5) Next, let’s talk about vitamins. Milk is rich in vitamin A, which can prevent skin from dryness and dullness, making the skin white and shiny; milk contains a large amount of B2, which can promote skin metabolism.

(6) Milk and dairy products such as cheese also contain a substance called CLA, which can effectively destroy carcinogenic free radicals in the human body and quickly bind to cell membranes, putting cells in a state of defense against the invasion of carcinogens, thereby playing an anti-cancer role. Moreover, the calcium contained in milk can effectively destroy carcinogens in the human intestine, breaking them down into non-carcinogens and excreting them out of the body. Vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin D, etc. contained in milk have a certain preventive effect on gastric cancer and colon cancer.
