Signs of melanoma

Signs of melanoma

Few people know about melanoma in real life. It is not so familiar. Melanoma is a very common skin disease. Many people suffer from it. This tumor is malignant and has a high chance of death. It causes great harm to patients. Once discovered, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately. So where does melanoma generally appear on the skin? What are the signs of melanoma?

Melanoma is a malignant skin tumor with a very high mortality rate. Currently, there are signs that the number of patients suffering from melanoma is increasing. In addition to being prone to melanoma on the skin. It may appear in many places such as eyes, nose, mouth, anal canal, rectum, etc. Because this disease is highly malignant and has a relatively high mortality rate, only early detection and early treatment can achieve better results.

Seven early signs of melanoma

Melanoma also has some signs of cancer in the early stages of malignant transformation. When a mole on the body shows the following seven characteristics, you should seek medical attention in a timely manner:

1. Asymmetry: One half of the mole looks asymmetrical with the other half.

2. Irregular edges: The edges are irregular or have notches, serrations, etc., unlike normal pigmented nevi which have a smooth round or oval outline.

3. Color change: Normal pigmented moles are usually solid color, while melanoma mainly appears as dirty black, but can also appear in a variety of different colors such as brown, brown, brown-black, blue, pink, black and even white.

4. Diameter: According to health tips, you should pay attention when the diameter of the pigmentation spot is larger than 5-6mm or when the pigmentation spot grows larger. Melanoma is usually larger than ordinary moles, so be careful of pigmented moles with a diameter greater than 5mm. Pigmented nevi with a diameter greater than 1 cm are best treated with excisional biopsy.

5. Bulging: In some early melanomas, the entire tumor will have a slight bulge.

6. Growth rate: Some pigmented nevi that have not changed for many years may grow significantly larger within a few weeks or months.

7. If the hair that has been growing on the pigmented mole suddenly falls off, or the mole breaks and is difficult to heal.

Melanoma can initially be seen as melanin deposition on normal skin, or as an increase in the pigmentation of a pigmented nevus, which becomes darker, the lesion continues to expand, the nevus becomes harder, and is accompanied by a sensation of itching and pain. Melanoma lesions may appear as raised, plaque-like or nodular structures, or may be mushroom-like or cauliflower-like in shape. When it grows into the subcutaneous tissue, it appears as a subcutaneous nodule or lump. If it spreads to the surrounding areas, it appears as star-shaped black spots or small nodules. If the above symptoms occur, be sure to go to a regular hospital in time to ensure timely treatment. Only timely treatment can make the treatment more effective.

There are many treatments for melanoma, including surgery, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, etc. If the disease is discovered early, surgical treatment can be adopted. After surgery, you can choose to cooperate with radiotherapy. At the same time, you can cooperate with the treatment of anti-cancer products to control the development of the disease, reduce toxic side effects, and prevent the metastasis and spread of melanoma. This way the effect will be more effective.

Melanoma can be said to be a very scary malignant tumor. If not treated in time, it will pose a threat to the patients' lives. Now that we know what the early signs of this disease are, we must do a good job of preventing this disease in our daily lives.
