If you ignore the small black spots on your teeth once you've confirmed that you have caries, they will grow bigger over time, usually within 1-2 years, and will corrode the entire tooth. Therefore, once it is confirmed that the small black spots on the teeth are caries, they should be repaired as soon as possible to prevent the development of the lesions.
