Why do hemorrhoids grow? What causes hemorrhoids?

Why do people get hemorrhoids? Most of the time it’s because people eat and drink without restraint and are too indulgent in their lives. When hemorrhoids are mild, there is just simple bleeding. When hemorrhoidal cores will come out, and some cannot be pushed back by hand. At this time, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. Humans should eat whole grains, vegetables and fruits, eat more plants, less meat and less greasy food.

Hemorrhoids are a disease unique to humans and do not exist in the animal kingdom. Many years ago, our human ancestors chose to walk upright, which freed the upper limbs and greatly expanded the brain capacity. However, the side effect was that after humans began to walk upright, the rectal veins did not evolve and no venous valves were formed. Unlike the veins of the limbs, which have venous valves and close when blood flows back, the rectal veins do not have these valves. When blood flows back, it is affected by gravity and will flow back, causing blood congestion and dilation of the veins to form varicose veins. This forms hemorrhoids. Animals, on the other hand, live on all fours and are subject to less pressure from gravity, so they don't get hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids can be divided into three categories according to the location of occurrence.

The anus is a very delicate, highly neurological, specialized organ. Hemorrhoids are divided into internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids according to the different locations where they occur. There is a jagged visible line at the junction of the anal canal skin and the rectal mucosa called the dentate line. Varicose veins above the dentate line are internal hemorrhoids, and varicose veins below the dentate line are external hemorrhoids. Mixed hemorrhoids are caused by the fusion of internal hemorrhoids with the corresponding external hemorrhoids through the venous plexus, that is, the anastomosis of the upper and lower venous plexuses. It is not as commonly believed that hemorrhoids grow outside the anus are external hemorrhoids and hemorrhoids grow inside the anus are internal hemorrhoids.

Three types of hemorrhoids, which one is more dangerous?

There is no single type of hemorrhoids that is more dangerous. In fact, every type of hemorrhoids can become very serious in the final stage. For example, internal hemorrhoids, when bleeding is severe, can lead to hemorrhagic anemia, and in severe cases can cause fainting and shock. I have seen cases of shock due to bleeding from internal hemorrhoids. If external hemorrhoids develop thrombosis or inflammatory edema, the main symptom is pain, and you should seek medical attention immediately. Otherwise the situation will worsen and cause tissue necrosis. If mixed hemorrhoids are not treated with surgery in time, they can be extremely dangerous and can cause infection, necrosis, and even systemic infection, leading to critical and severe illness.

Depending on the severity, hemorrhoids can be divided into

In the first stage, there is mainly fresh bleeding, no prolapse, and slight swelling.

In the second stage, the hemorrhoids prolapse but can shrink back on their own and are the size of a peanut or walnut.

In the third stage, the hemorrhoids have prolapsed and cannot be put back in, and need to be put back by hand. There are single-core prolapsed hemorrhoids and ring-shaped prolapsed hemorrhoids. Single-core means that only one hemorrhoid comes out; ring-shaped hemorrhoids are like this circle of small tomatoes, with the hemorrhoids forming a circle and falling out.

◆ The fourth stage: mixed hemorrhoids are incarcerated, hemorrhoids prolapse and cannot be reduced, thrombosis and inflammatory edema occur, seriously affecting life.
