Is osteitis serious? Can it be cured?

We all know that bones act as a support in our body, supporting our limbs and torso, allowing our life activities to proceed smoothly, and they play an extraordinary role in our lives. But even such an important "scaffold" can have problems - osteitis. Because of its importance, when problems occur with it, it often makes the patient feel uneasy. So how serious is osteitis? Can osteitis be cured?

Disease Description:

Osteitis is currently considered to be a chronic viral infection. The causes of inflammation in different parts of the bones are different. Among them, pycnogenol ...

Causes:

There are various hypotheses about the cause of the disease, including inflammation, tumors, endocrine disorders, abnormal blood supply, autoimmunity and innate defects in connective tissue metabolism, but all lack sufficient evidence.

At present, it is generally believed that this disease is a chronic viral infection, and the evidence is:

1. Ultrastructural observation revealed that there were typical inclusion bodies in the nucleus and cytoplasm of osteoclasts (probably the nucleoprotein envelope of a paramyxovirus), which were very similar to the inclusion bodies in the cultured cells of respiratory syncytial virus.

2. This disease has a long incubation period and presents a subacute clinical course.

3. The bone destruction and bone formation of this disease are accompanied by fibrosis, which is a chronic inflammatory reaction.

4. The large number of multinucleated giant cells in the lesion site may be the remnants of multinucleated syncytial giant cells.

5. The disease has a certain regional distribution.

6. Many cases have a family history.

Osteitis can be cured as long as it is treated promptly and effectively, using a combination of medication and surgery. It is not difficult to cure.

Treatment:

1. Non-surgical treatment

Non-surgical treatment is the main treatment. For those with mild symptoms, they can rest in bed appropriately and use an elastic waist belt for protection after getting out of bed; for those with severe symptoms, they can take painkillers and use a stent for protection. After the pain is relieved, the patient is encouraged to do abdominal muscle exercises and continue to use an elastic waist belt for protection.

2. Surgical treatment

For patients with persistent pain, sacroiliac joint fusion surgery may be considered.
