Neonatal eczema, commonly known as "milk ringworm", is a common skin disease related to allergic reactions. Infant eczema is the most common in childhood. Infant eczema usually appears 1 to 3 months after birth and is more common in babies who are allergic to milk. The symptoms gradually improve after half a year, and most children recover on their own after one and a half years. The rash is polymorphic and is characterized by itching and recurring attacks. It often occurs on the cheeks, scalp, forehead, between the eyebrows, neck, under the jaw or behind the ears, and may also spread to other parts of the body. The rash begins as scattered small papules or erythema, which gradually increase and small blisters, yellow-white scales and crusts can be seen.

There are many types of medicines that can be used for neonatal eczema, and mothers should use the medicines under the guidance of a doctor. Before changing to a new medication, be sure to remove the previous medication. When changing medications, it is best to apply it to a small area of eczema on the baby's skin first, observe the effect, and decide whether to use it. Avoid aggravating the condition due to improper use of medications.

The method of treating neonatal infant eczema depends on the symptoms of eczema, such as local erythema, papules, scales, and scabs. Do not use hormone-containing drugs and ointments. If there is a lot of ulcer exudate, you should use cold wet compress with solution, and then apply milk ringworm ointment after scab formation. For babies whose eczema is not serious, only local medication is needed, but you should not abuse the medication on your own to avoid causing skin damage or infection.

When eczema forms scabs on the newborn, it means that the eczema will soon be cured. At this time, parents must handle it carefully to avoid bacterial infection. At the same time, you should pay special attention to daily care and eat a lighter diet to avoid aggravation.
