Precautions after the expected date of delivery

Precautions after the expected date of delivery

If you see spotting before the due date, it usually means you are about to enter labor. If you see spotting, pregnant women should not worry too much. You should remain optimistic and cheerful, be ready for the arrival of the baby at any time, get more rest, and maintain sufficient physical strength to cope with labor. If your water has not broken and there is only a small amount of blood, you can take a shower and then go to the hospital for a check-up.

Precautions after the expected date of delivery

1. When encountering spotting, mothers must not be nervous, keep a good mood, pay attention to rest more, and maintain physical strength. In life, many women who have just given birth always mistakenly believe that they will have labor pains immediately after seeing blood. According to professionals, this view is not quite accurate. Some mothers suffer from insomnia at night due to mental stress and this kind of thinking. Insufficient rest will cause physical fatigue, and eventually lead to decreased physical strength and listlessness, which is not conducive to childbirth.

2. For all pregnant mothers, the first thing to do after seeing blood is not to be nervous, and the second thing to do is to observe and judge. Observe and judge the shape, color and amount of the red. Because everyone's physique is different, the effects of "seeing blood" vary greatly. Normally, spotting will occur 24 hours before labor pains, but in a few women, spotting will occur repeatedly a few days or even a week before delivery.

3. If there are no labor pains or water breaking, but only a small amount of light blood, the mother may consider taking a bath before going to the hospital for examination. Professional doctors in the hospital will recommend whether the mother should go home to rest or be admitted to the hospital for delivery based on the condition of the cervix opening.

4. If you experience abdominal pain and the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately. There is no need to rush to call an ambulance. Stay calm and go to the hospital on your own.

5. If the contractions are regular, and there is back pain and intermittent stomach tightness before the contractions, and if the uterine contractions become stronger and the time intervals between contractions become shorter regularly, then you should go to the delivery room to wait for delivery.

6. If watery liquid flows out of the vagina involuntarily, it can be considered a sign of amniotic fluid breaking. Normally, the amniotic fluid breaks at the beginning of labor or before it occurs. Water breaking does not mean spotting, so if there is anything unusual, you need to observe and judge. If your water breaks, you should go to the hospital to check whether you are going to give birth.

What should pregnant women do after spotting?

Generally, spotting occurs 24 hours before labor pains, but it may also occur repeatedly a few days before delivery or even a week before delivery. If there is only a light streak of blood and the amount is not large, the pregnant mother can stay at home to observe and pay attention not to overwork and avoid strenuous exercise. If you experience fresh bleeding, the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, or you experience abdominal pain, you should be hospitalized immediately. You can go to the hospital on your own, there is no need to call an ambulance.
