How big is the uterus?

The uterus is a place where the baby is conceived. It is located in the middle of the pelvic and abdominal cavity. Generally speaking, before delivery, the uterus is 7.5 cm long and about three centimeters thick. When a woman becomes pregnant, as the fetus gradually develops, the uterus will gradually become larger. The uterus is very important for women's health, so we must strengthen care and conditioning in daily life to prevent some gynecological diseases.

How big is the uterus?

The uterus is the organ that produces menstruation and nurtures the fetus. It is located in the center of the pelvic cavity, between the bladder and the rectum. The size of the uterus is related to age and fertility. For nulliparous women, it is approximately 7.5 cm long, 5 cm wide, and 3 cm thick. The uterus can be divided into three parts: the fundus, the body, and the neck. The uterine cavity is an inverted triangle, about 6 cm deep, with the two upper corners being the "uterine horns" that lead to the fallopian tubes. The narrow lower end is called the "isthmus", which is about 1 cm long. The isthmus gradually expands during pregnancy and forms the lower uterine segment at the time of delivery.

The ratio of the uterine body to the cervix varies with age, being 1:2 in infancy, 1:1 in adolescence, and 2:1 during the reproductive period. The uterus is normally slightly curved forward, with the anterior wall lying prone on the bladder and almost at right angles to the vagina. Its position may change with the degree of fullness of the bladder and rectum. The uterine wall is composed of three layers from outside to inside: serosa, muscle layer and mucosa (i.e. endometrium).

Uterine care tips

Active contraception

According to a survey, if a woman has had more than three abortions, the possibility of uterine disease and harm increases significantly.

If artificial abortions are repeated multiple times, it can easily cause uterine infection, cervical or uterine adhesions, leading to secondary infertility.

Compared with a decade ago, uterine fibroids are increasingly common in middle-aged women in their thirties and forties, especially those who are childless, have disordered sexual life, and are depressed. According to gynecological experts, the specific cause of uterine fibroids is still unclear, but studies have shown that excessive hormone secretion is the most common cause of uterine fibroids, and these three behavioral patterns of women are the culprits that cause endocrine disorders and excessive hormone secretion.

Prevent postpartum uterine prolapse

If you do not pay attention to rest after giving birth, and often squat to work or do heavy work, the abdominal pressure will increase, and the uterus will shift downward along the vagina from its normal position. At this time, it is best to choose appropriate gynecological care products.

Reduce high-fat foods

High-fat foods promote the production and release of certain hormones, and the formation of uterine fibroids is related to large amounts of estrogen stimulation. Adhere to a low-fat diet, drink plenty of water, and take in necessary nutrients according to the latest 4+1 pyramid dietary structure. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, frozen food, etc.

Pay attention

If you find an increase in leucorrhea or abnormal menstrual bleeding, you should seek medical attention promptly and undergo relevant examinations to ensure early detection and treatment. Menstruation and leucorrhea are the "barometers" of whether there is a problem with the uterus. Women should pay attention to their changes in time!

Promote metabolism and excrete toxins

Metabolic waste and toxins produced during metabolism accumulate over a long period of time, forming blockages and affecting the normal physiology of the uterus. Fumigation can be used to improve metabolism, expel toxins and treat the uterus.
