What is cervical ulcer?

What is cervical ulcer?

When it comes to ulcers, everyone knows that it is a part of the body that is damaged, and cervical ulcers are also called cervical erosion. This disease is a manifestation of chronic cervicitis, which is mainly caused by infection. It can cause increased vaginal discharge, contact bleeding, etc. If the above situation occurs, we should go to the hospital for timely anti-inflammatory treatment and cannot delay it, because delaying it may lead to cervical cancer. Next, I will tell you in detail what causes cervical ulcers.

1. Causes of cervical ulcer:

Cervical ulcer is cervical erosion. Ultimately, it is actually a misunderstanding of the normal manifestation of the cervix in the past. In essence, the so-called cervical erosion is actually the eversion of the columnar epithelium.

In the past medical textbooks, there was a so-called graded diagnosis of cervical erosion, which was called mild, moderate and severe. It was believed that the size of the area was the severity of the inflammation. An area less than 1/3 was mild, 1/3-2/3 was moderate, and more than 2/3 was severe. This is actually the different degrees of columnar epithelial eversion after being affected by estrogen, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.

The so-called "cervical erosion" is actually a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require any treatment! It will not affect fertility. If you search online now, you will find that many methods of treating cervical erosion are wrong.

At the same time, symptomatic cervicitis needs treatment. The specific treatment method needs to be determined according to different hospitals, but in general, acute inflammation can be treated with suppositories, and chronic inflammation can be treated with physical therapy methods such as laser or freezing.

2. Precautions for cervical erosion:

Regular cervical examination is necessary, not to prevent cervical erosion, but to prevent cervical cancer.

The occurrence of cervical cancer is related to infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). Some so-called high-risk HPV types are prone to precancerous lesions and cervical cancer when they persist in the squamous-columnar junction of the cervix. Since the advent of cervical smear testing, the mortality rate of cervical cancer has dropped significantly. The key is early prevention and treatment. It is currently recommended that women over the age of 21 should undergo a cervical smear test once a year. After the age of 30, an HPV test can be combined with the test. If three consecutive HPV and cervical smear tests are negative, the interval can be extended to once every three years. Screening can be stopped after the age of 65.

3. Treatment of cervical erosion

If the cervical ulcer is mild or moderate, it is usually caused by inflammatory infection. Some antibiotics can be used for treatment, which can play a good role in resisting bacteria and reducing inflammation. Commonly used drugs include Fuyankang Granules and Gongcerkang Tablets, and the treatment effect is very good.

If the condition of cervical ulcer has become very serious, then everyone should go to a regular hospital for examination and use surgery to treat the disease under the advice of a professional doctor. Because for severe cervical ulcer problems, drug treatment can no longer achieve good results. After discovering the disease, you must not delay the condition. Choosing surgical treatment is a very good choice.

Women with cervical ulcers should also pay attention to self-care. When local ulcers occur, they can use some anti-inflammatory solutions, such as gynecological wash or potassium permanganate solution, to prevent bacterial formation. Generally, mild cervical erosion is caused by physical damage and can be quickly resolved by local treatment with some disinfectants.
