What is a vaccine?

What is a vaccine?

I believe that in the memories of the 80s and 90s generation, when getting vaccinated, in addition to seeing children crying, they could also eat a very sweet candy. In fact, the candy we eat is called sugar pills, which is also a kind of vaccine. It can be said that sugar pills are the most delicious vaccine when we were children, and no child does not like to eat them. Many people know that the function of sugar pills is to prevent polio, so what kind of vaccine is it?

Sugar pills are a type of vaccine. Sugar pill vaccine requires milk powder, cream, glucose and other materials as adjuvants. The liquid vaccine is rolled into sugar to form a sugar pill vaccine. The sugar pill vaccine is white and very sensitive to heat. It is the first category vaccine in the national immunization program.

The polio vaccine used in our country is a live attenuated vaccine, which is a mixed sugar pill vaccine. After oral immunization, this vaccine can stimulate the body to produce immunity against polio virus and is used to prevent poliomyelitis. Taking polio vaccine is a specific immunization measure to prevent the occurrence of poliomyelitis.
