Things to note during the first vaginal birth

Things to note during the first vaginal birth

Nowadays, there are two main modes of delivery for pregnant women: cesarean section and natural birth. Compared with natural birth, caesarean section causes less pain, is safer and more controllable, and is the first choice for many pregnant women. However, babies born through natural birth often have higher resistance and are less susceptible to disease than babies born through caesarean section. Therefore, many families are still willing to choose natural birth. Then you need to pay attention to some things during the first normal delivery process.

Precautions for normal delivery

Prepare adult and child belongings in advance.

Whether it is a natural birth or a caesarean section, the items for adults and children must be prepared in advance to avoid panic when the time comes and when all the family members go out to buy things, they cannot be found when the doctor calls them. Here I would like to say that adults should prepare maternity pads and toilet paper, and two or three sets of baby clothes.

Try to relax throughout the process and don't be too nervous.

When you are about to give birth, you must control your emotions and don't be afraid or worried. Every woman has to go through this, so be strong. You may not be able to completely relax, but as long as you don't think about it, you won't be too nervous. When you are nervous and the intervals between contractions are long, you can watch your favorite TV to divert your attention.

Wash your hair and take a shower in advance.

You are not allowed to wash your hair or take a bath after giving birth. Although we no longer follow the old rules, you are still not allowed to wash your hair or take a bath for at least a week. Especially in hot weather, it is too uncomfortable not to wash your hair or bathe, so wash your hair and take a bath before giving birth.

When your water breaks, lie down immediately and let your family take you to the hospital.

If the amniotic fluid breaks first, the expectant mother should not move around. First of all, don't be nervous when the water breaks. Then lie down quickly and ask your family to take you to the hospital.

If you feel pain every five minutes, go to the hospital immediately.

If you time yourself and find that you feel pain every five minutes, it means the birth is imminent. For the safety of you and your baby, go to the hospital immediately and have the doctor check how dilated you are.

Walk around appropriately during contractions.

As long as the pain is not unbearable during labor, you can take a walk. First, it can divert your attention. Second, it can allow the baby to enter the birth canal and squeeze out as quickly as possible, shortening the delivery process.

Don't push until the doctor tells you to.

Don't push too hard when you're in labor. Save your energy and wait until your doctor tells you to push.

When you feel pain, bear it, don't cry or scream, and save your energy.

Giving birth will definitely be painful. Don't scream when it hurts. Just bear it and hum softly. Don't use up all your strength, or you will have no strength when you need to push. Besides, doctors have seen many childbirths and are used to seeing painful expressions. They will be annoyed if you scream in their ears like an uncultured person.

Drink something to quickly improve your performance before your doctor tells you to push.

Before the doctor asks you to start pushing, drink something that can quickly improve your ability. Usually the doctor will ask the family members to quickly bring the drinks, so the drinks should be prepared in advance. At this time, you must drink it regardless of whether you are in the mood or not. Only with strength can you see the baby faster.

When the doctor tells you to push, follow his instructions and don't lift your butt.

You have to use the force correctly. If you use it correctly, you will get twice the result with half the effort. If you use it incorrectly, you will not only waste energy but also time, prolong the time the baby is in the birth canal, and may also affect the baby. So do as the doctor says, and remember not to lift your buttocks when you use force.

It will be a little painful during the uterine cleaning, but bear with it.

After the baby is born, the uterus needs to be cleaned. Be patient and let the doctor clean your uterus thoroughly so that the lochia can be discharged faster. If it is not cleaned thoroughly, you will get sick and need to have the uterus cleaned again. Be patient and clean it thoroughly this time.

After giving birth, ask your family to wrap you in a large towel or blanket before entering the ward.

When giving birth, all pants are taken off. After giving birth, the vagina and uterus will still hurt. At this time, the doctor asks family members to carry the baby out. You cannot put on pants again. There are most likely men in the ward. Even if there are no men, it is embarrassing to be naked in front of a woman you don't know. So let your husband wrap you up with a quilt or a large towel before carrying you out.

Don't push after giving birth.

You will feel very relaxed after giving birth, but it is also the time when you start the confinement period, so try not to exert force if possible, let your family help you, and take good care of yourself during the confinement period to avoid leaving behind troublesome diseases.
