Will excessive moisture in the body cause acne?

Acne is not unfamiliar to everyone, because we have been fighting against acne since adolescence. Even after adulthood, acne may appear, which is unavoidable. In fact, acne is not only related to body hormones, but may also be related to some diseases. So the question is, if there is a lot of moisture in the body, will acne occur?

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, acne is caused by the increase of oil in the body. The viscosity of the oil suppresses the secretion of fire, which causes heat to accumulate in the body, and then induces acne. The high oil content is what we generally call "heavy moisture".

Therefore, excessive moisture in the body will be accompanied by acne on the face. Moreover, strictly speaking, heavy moisture in the body is a very important factor in causing acne.

Symptoms of people with damp-heat constitution

The damp-heat constitution is usually manifested as: the body is generally fat, the face and nose are shiny, acne is easy to occur on the face, and the skin is easy to itch.

Often feel bitter taste in the mouth, bad breath or a strange smell in the mouth, sticky sweat with a smell, often chest tightness and abdominal distension, yellow urine, sticky or dry stool, and foul smell; oily hair and easy hair loss, skin is prone to acne, eczema, athlete's foot, etc., feel heavy and tired, and irritable.

Composition of damp-heat constitution

People with congenital deficiency, especially those with Qi deficiency; or those who have lived in wetlands for a long time and like to eat fatty and sweet food; or those who drink alcohol for a long time and have internal dampness and heat; or those who are overworked and suffer from spleen and stomach function, if these factors combine with external dampness and heat to cause internal dampness and heat, they will develop a damp-heat constitution.

To dehumidify you should do this:

1. Avoid living in humid areas

If you live in a low-lying and humid place, with high temperature and humidity in summer and no ventilation, your body will accumulate a lot of dampness and heat for a long time.

Therefore, the living environment must be ventilated and dry. Do not lock the doors and windows in winter. You should open the windows for ventilation every day to maintain air circulation, which also helps to remove moisture from the body.

2. Exercise more

As the saying goes, "The life of the people depends on movement."

Exercise can remove dampness. In the past, we should participate in more aerobic exercise. Even if we don’t have the habit of exercise now, we should do more housework or other physical activities to keep the body full of vitality at all times. Moreover, a certain amount of sweating can discharge the stagnant water in the body and help eliminate toxins in the body.
